Default Ebay details - do i change them now?

Hi all,

i have made an ebay account with a different name and address to my paypal name and address. Both names and addresses are not correct.

I have started to gradually get feedback by buying household items, and am currently on 5 feedback 100%.

Do i need to change my name and address on the ebay account and paypal account to make them real? The only problem i face is that my current address was entered on a previous banned account.

So, should i keep the incorrect name's and addresses on ebay and paypal, or should i change them to my current (banned on previous account) address?

Can i not get in trouble with having wrong details - ie name and address?

Mark

Why would you need to change your details? Are you stealth? How would ebay know what "wrong" details you have? As long as you have an address that you are able to get your purchases at....then you have a "right" address......as long as the name is close enough to the one you have a bank account attached then you have the "right" name....in the event you are looking on starting to sell....not really understanding your question....might want to be more specific as to why you feel you NEED to change your details.

Welcome to the forums. Your current feedback is building. Do you really need to have your real address on file? Seems that you are operating well without it - don't do it.

If it isn't broke, don't fix it - especially with old banned details. All the best.

i am intending to start selling in the next couple of days, gradually building up.

Can i still operate with the wrong address details?

Thanks

Of course you can operate with wrong details - if you need items returned, just e-mail the buyer politely.

Still not quite sure what you are considering to be a "wrong address".....seems you purchased items off of ebay and got them at that "wrong adddress"??? If so, then you have an address you have access to which doesnt make it a "wrong address".......so I would assume you would even be fine if someone who purchased from you needed to return....assuming this, hopefully you dont mean that you are using and address to say someone else's address who has an ebay/paypal account as well in which case if your account goes down the chance of the other account going down or having issues will likely happen as well....if this is the case......as to if changing your address so early in the account "newness" maybe someone else can chime in on that one....but I would think it would be better to add an address more so over changing it completely.....but again, just a guess as I am not sure. Good Luck!

is your name on said accounts stealth or real at stealth address
i would say keep it where it is and like it is if you have access to the address, if not and you are using stealth name then you could change to your real address, most seems hell bent on getting stealth names/address when there is no need, it is easier to keep your real address and just use stealth name, one thing i would say is to leave it 3 months since been baned on old account before you open a new one with stealth name but real address.

The address i have on the account is an address that i can not access, nor is it a real name. I would change the address to my real address but keep the name stealth, however, my real address where i live is banned on a previous account, which would be linked if i added it again, right?

Thank you

You cant use a banned address. You cant use any banned info at all. And you dont want to be changing the name on accounts anyway.

You are not fully grasping the stealth system very well. You are messing with the very basics.

You really need to get a better understanding of how this all works or you will lose accounts without doubt

Get the stealth guide or re read it or spend some more time reading the forum. Without knowing what you are doing you are going to run into trouble I'm afraid

Of course it would be linked - IF you want to change your address (and don't say I did not warn you that this could be a heavy security risk to your account), play around with your real address - make it different - 123 Gone Street becomes B. 123 Gonne St.

It really depends on how many hits the address has taken. In my experience, my address can take 1-3 hits per year.

What do you mean by hits? Same address used 3 times in one year?

Hit = Suspended account.

I've sold on a set of 3 accounts for several months, they got suspended. About one year later I made another 3 accounts, sold for a several months then got suspended.... You get the idea, give or take a several months.

The suspension were because of too many policy violations, not getting linked.

No variations, but good idea.
