Royal Mail Lost in the post

This is a general question, since after Christmas many of my items have been lost in the post, ~20 items by Royal mail, which is 10% of my items. As all the items were ~£10 I posted via regular first class or Airmail post to Europe to reduce postage costs. In the past I have had 1-2 a week max. going missing or buyers being dishonest but ~20 what is going on, has anyone else had packages go missing in the post over the last few weeks or have I just been unlucky? I understand some have been delayed but 3 weeks is a joke.

This is messing up my account with poor feedback and having to offer a replacements or refunds. I know this is a long shot but is there any way I can recoup some of my costs as I only send via untracked mail?

Thanks

No, what's gone is gone and Christmas is notorious for delays, broken and lost items.

If you opt in for insurance, it was the only way to recoup your costs.

Thanks, I though as much

I have been serious delays in sending parcels to USA & Canada. Normally my packages arrive in good time about 5-7 working days but it currently seems to be 2-3 weeks.

Ryanba, you are seeing this delay right now still? Or just during Christmas?
And which states do you ship to in USA?

Yes I am still seeing this delay, I've upgraded to Royal Mail's Airsure for my next letter
to Canada. I've been shipping to Florida, Maine and Texas.

i have also lost a parcel over xmas via royal mail.....

however if u have the receipt of posting and a receipt of the goods u can make a claim back from royal mail; just go onto there webste and download a claims form...it might be worth a try!

Bah Humbug! Royal Mail excelled themselves this past holiday season. Had a parcel go from Cornwall to Essex. Posted 2nd week December. Got there last Friday.
Tis always shocking with them :tears:

As has been said, goto the RM website and download a claims form (If you have PoP)

Yes there have been huge delays over Xmas, and its still bad now, but 10%! No way! Too many people on eBay getting a free ride claiming for not arrived items.

If more people put claims in, the RM would eventually monitor their addresses.

tracking etc. so a claim would be difficult to prove, just going to have to take this one on the chin.
My account is getting worse by the day, have another two claims lodged this week regarding non receipt of item. As I sent via regular post I have no proof of postage or

No they wont, they monitor the sender, as they are the one making the claim for loss.

Surprisingly the person receiving the parcel is never monitored from what I was told by others that have been down that road.
