proof of ownership

:mad2:
Hi
I recently opened a new ebay uk account sold my first items with no problem 13+ positive feedbacks i then listed 10 more items all genuine cds not copies and all with low starting fees I have just logged in today and been hit by proof of ownership and id? what do i do know is it worth trying to provide the info requested or should i just set up a new account as this would probably be easier? I dont understand why i am being asked for proof of ownership i dont use stock photos for my listings and they are not high value items. I dont have receipts for items as they are cds from my personal collection that i have had for years. I used my own personal info to open ebay account and p/p account, but on my ebay acccount i have used my middle name rather than my first, my address and bank details are genuine aswell. Any help appreciated, also my listings are still active, why doesn't ebay just end them if they think i dont have the items to sell in the first place! they will end in the next 24 hrs and these are the items they are requesting proof about.

Welcome to the forums.

Yes eb ay is odd and works in weird manners at times. Best thing to do is call them up and provide what they need. Show photos with dates etc. They are trying to make sure that you are not selling knockoffs.

In your place, I would also make new stealth accounts while trying to salvage this one.

All the best.

What might also be useful for you is to start watermarking your photos espeically when the account is new and you have little credability with ebay/paypal!

i have been asked this before for things i was selling , i contacted them and explained i had them for a while and didnt realise that proof of purchase would be required by them . i was asked where i had bought them from and this seemed to satisfy this requirement

if you have them take a picture then send it to them, i have done this in the past

Proof

Hi,

When you say take a photo etc. do I need to be in the picture or can I just place my ebay user id on a piece of paper next to the items?

Can you please let me know asap.

Thanks
