Lifting Limits - Should you try and hit £1000 in sales or 100 items in sales?

Guys.
I know the limit once verified is 100 items/£1000 in sales max for the first month.

Just wondered what is best trying to get to in order to lift the limit.

Would it be the 100 items sold in month 1 so ebay think you are selling alot.

OR

Would it be the £1000 in money brought into the account? which maybe may not be 100 items, if you know what i mean?

Hit me with your tips and advice,

cheers

Do not call eBay to try and lift the limit unless you have all the necessary ID, utility bills & supplier info to send them.

The best way to remove the limit is to sell up to your limit every month, maintaining high DSRs and feedback. After a few months, when you've established yourself with eBay, they will up / remove your selling limit automatically.

you got it twisted bro

before you are pay pal verified you most probably will have ebay limits of 10 items/£350 per month

if you verify pay pal with bank account then go to lift eb ay limits you will get the 100 items/£3500 limit

this is the usual anyways

but the pay pal limit will be £1900 per year, and as soon as you hit £1600 you will get a request for documents, add them and you will get unlimited

eb ay limits....probably have to call them to get higher than 100 items or after a while they will give you a higher limit, depends though if you perform well or sell high risk etc

good luck, theres no quick fixes on eb ay

ok thanks for clearing this up

100 items/£3500 limit is ok i suppose to start although limits chances of sales with just 100 items

Once u do get a chance to up the limits what is the next limit they up it to? i understand everyones is different- simply wondering a rough guess. 200 items/5000£ ?

with regards to paypal that is cool. i understand they'r limitation - although very annoying.

One other thing - how soon after hitting the ebay limit can you contact them to lift?

thank you all - very helpful

instead of rushing things on one account mate, use multiple accounts

so you can sell as many as you need to

sell upto your limits every month and provide a quick service, ensure the goods are top quality,no complaints and you may get unlimited eb ay in a few months

no guarantees

more accounts is the way to go and let eb ay nature take its course:D

I truly understand what you are saying my friend.
problem is , it is hard to keep on top of things with multiple accounts!

in theory lets says 3 accounts selling 100 items in month 1 would maybe generate a couple of grand becuase of the nature of my items it would not hit the max £ figure of the limitation.

I'm going to have to do it, but it still stresses me out big time.

one other thing, becuase i have a sky broadband i cannot change the IP so i bought a t mobile mobile internet dongle but its SLOW as hell and can barely move a page! so its no good for ebay tbh...any thoughts ?

GTB 01-15-2012 09:31 AM

three mobile dongle is good

you gotta do what you gotta do,you can get them lifted but they will take a good look at you,do you really want that?

Regarding a dongle, you need to do a check to see what network providers are best in your postcode. A simple google search will bring up 1 search that'll show you all networks coverage.

Regarding limits, in my experience, calling in will get them raised from 100/£3500 to 250/£6000. The next jump is normally then to 600 items/£12000.

Note they will only consider a limits increase if you have good feedback/DSR's, and they will only raise your limits once in 30 days.

(So calling on the 24th December for an increase, then calling again on the 26th Jan, would be cool)

Good Luck.
