linking accounts
 

hi
i have a few questions reguarding linking accounts
i had three accounts closed and got banned at xmas, all accounts at my address!

firstly, to get a bit more selling power i borrowed a friends account before xmas and ran that along side the accounts that got banned.on my main computer.
but his account hasnt been banned and he has continued selling on his account.
how is this possible, as i thought he would of been linked to my account?

secondly my daughters boyfriend comes to my house with his laptop and checks his ebay through my wifi, could he get linked through that and get his account closed??

thirdly, i used to log into my accounts on our works computer to check my ebay so i am link to theres as well, will anything happen there if they have ebay??

For your `Firstly q', they are linked but that does not mean 100% that all linkages = auto ban...chances are greater though but you may still last awhile.

2nd q - could get linked but via IP only...it`s a light link if any. Not my major concerns.

3rd q - sure, if accounts go down, that IP + cookies could be flagged.

Sounds like you need to get the Stealth Guide...

bals65 if you've got the Ebay Stealth manual and you'd read it then you wouldnt need to be asking these questions, you were saying something similar in another thread. Of course you can ask for advice in here, but until you;ve done your homework properly all you will have are random ideas floating around in your head which is no good as you need to follow every step carefully.

Yes you might get away for a few weeks / months using the same accounts on PC's that have had other accounts banned on, but eventually the crap will hit the fan and then your friends accounts, your daughters boyfriends account and potentially anyone at your work who uses ebay's account could all end up linked to your original suspended account.

If you learned how to protect your PC from cookies / IP linking then using your account and other peoples account on the same PC would be ok. Its not rocket science, but its not worth risking - epecially innocent peoples legitimate accounts getting suspended because you thought you knew better.

thanx for the heads up
i just needed clarity on the risks
as all these things were done when i was not banned!
so i just wanted to try and warn people who have used my wifi and my works computer
since i got banned i haven't logged back into my friends account' i will warn my daughters b/f about logging into my wifi, then the choice is his.
work could be more difficult to sort out as i dont have permission to mess with the computer!
