Suspended account - not sure why...

A stealth account I've had sitting idle since June was suspended yesterday because of "concerns for the eBay community". The only I thing I listed was a test listing that didn't offer anything for sale. I'm guessing that is what has attracted attention. But I see "test listings" all the time!

Everything was fine - new info, new user account, new IP, new bank account, Entropay CC, confirmed as a business etc... The only thing I'd yet to do was upload documents to PayPal to remove the receiving limit. But my PayPal account is still active as far as I know - just eBay was suspended. I'll be hearing from their 'specialist team' shortly!

The suspension email from eBay asked me to upload:

1. Proof of identity (photo ID & utility bill)
2. Proof that the items I listed are in my possession (receipt or bill - no invoices allowed)

It's the second that's causing worry. Firstly, I hadn't actually really listed anything on eBay so how can I prove what I listed? (rather than what I had intended to list).

And secondly, they specifically said that they can't accept invoices as proof that the items belong to me. But the items I had planned on listing do belong to me, are from a legitimate supplier and an invoice is all the proof I have. It is basically a receipt. So why won't they accept it?

Is this account dead? I hope not as that was my last fresh bank account, and the last one I'm likely to get with my credit rating!

Still haven't heard from their "specialist team". I wish you could phone the "specialist team" lol!

Don't think i've heard anything so rediculous.

You tell me.

WHY would a new user to eBay post a test listing?

I was trying to age the selling account by getting a first listing going but I hadn't received my stock yet. Didn't have anything to sell! Just wondered if the account is lost now?

Plus, I can see at least 50 "test listings" active on eBay right now!

Learn from this.......... just because there are 'test listings' try to avoid thinking all is OK for those sellers.

Keep your own account fine.

:shhh:

it is ok, we all made mistakes, good luck

Avoid test listings - not ready for that :)

Start by going normal routes as you learn what works.

I hope that's the only thing they spotted. I'm sure I haven't slipped up anywhere else. Need to get ID sorted and hope they accept an invoice, even though they say they won't.

As I said, this is my last fresh bank account and I'm not getting another one for a long time with my credit history, so I hope they reinstate this account if I promise not to "test list" again! :/
