UK Selling Limits

So i made a few new accounts about a week ago (had to receive a letter on 3 of them.)

When i verified my ebay account my limits were increased from
10/£600 to 100/£3500

I hope this means its goodbye to the 25/£750 limits. or i was just lucky :d

Anyways i thought you guys should know in case they change it back again soon!!

Imakemoney 03-09-2013 06:49 PM

Interesting...I did one earlier today but still got the £750/25 limit

GreenBean 03-09-2013 06:52 PM

More letters going out is a tad disconcerting.

I hope any UK users reading this understand the importance of having an accessible address.

Just keep trying just in case!! I only added the pins from the 3 letters tonight.
So i am going to make more accounts and hopefully i get lucky again.

Elijah 03-09-2013 06:53 PM

Very interesting. There have been at least two other posters who reported getting higher limits after receiving the letter. It seems to be connected to that; if you don't get the letter request you just get 25.

keithy72 03-09-2013 07:23 PM

Yes interesting....i wonder if it just depends on who you get and what mood they are in....
Did you wait 3 months before applying for higher limits buneh?

I have opened some accounts last week and im dying to hit the raise selling limits button but scared to rush in.

Bunneh 03-09-2013 07:25 PM

No i opened them all about a week or so ago and then just clicked the 'request higher limits button''

What limits do you have?

keithy72 03-09-2013 07:32 PM

I am still on 10/600, I do have access to these particular addresses though so I might just give it a go myself and see.

Thanks for posting this Bunneh.

GreenBean 03-09-2013 08:40 PM

:nono:

Try to avoid any consequences you can not handle, simply for a lack of patience.

keithy72 03-09-2013 08:44 PM

Well this is it GB, I was thinking the same as you are saying and just hold off but it seemed to work ok with Bunneh. I might try it with one account and see what happens with that.

Killuminati 03-10-2013 09:18 AM

I had 5 accounts with 25/£750 limits that were raised to 50/£1200 this was all done naturally

Re: UK Selling Limits

Received a letter?? Is this for lifting limits?

Elijah 03-10-2013 09:54 AM

It just has a code to enter to raise your limits. Some accounts require that before they raise your limits these days.

GreenBean 03-10-2013 10:06 AM

It's also known as the ebay cr*p shoot

'Cos if there is no access to the address you know where the account is......

in the .........

I actually hear you, loud & clear.

The choice would be yours.

It is a matter of your own confidence in whatever transpires as a result of contact with ebay.

Damn I will have to go to McDonalds and ask if there's been any mail for Miss Ethel Skinner.

Mutant 03-11-2013 06:01 PM

Lol use 25 limits and make more accounts.

I have access to one address out of 50 accounts

Heck even my IP is fully anonymous

The number of items you can list a month :juggle:

SimpleX 03-12-2013 08:52 AM

How long does the eB letter with the code normally take to come?

Out of curiosity how long did the letters take to arrive?

And do you have a landline attached to the eB accounts?

Thanks. Are these personal or business eB accounts?

OK, thanks.

I opened two personal eB accounts last week, and added mobile numbers to them. I'm thinking to change them to landline numbers, and make them business accounts before requesting a confirmation code, to see if I stand a better chance of skipping the 25/£750 limit and hopefully get the 100/£3500 limit. Or sell to limits, then request the confirmation codes? As some people are getting the 100/£3500 limits straight away, without sales etc.

With the letter you should get 3500/100 if personal or business...As far as im aware... thats how its been working for me...its passed that on personal accounts that i think have a problem unless you ring in or turn to a business.....it seems to be a limit for personal accounts recently created.

SimpleX 03-13-2013 08:13 AM

Has anyone gone from 10/£650 to 100/£3500 on a brand new account with 0 sales and zero feedback, just by having the confirmation code letter sent out?

Not all of them were new, and rest never mentioned the age of the account. Just need more people to chime in with their results.

Bunneh 03-14-2013 02:25 PM

WOW!!!

I starting selling items on buyitnow on this new account with the 100 items limit as mentioned in first post and there is NO payment holds on the account.
I have received a few payments.

I hope this is permanent and not a glitch :pry::clap:

nooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!

Does this mean the 21 day holds will only start from your 5th payment or from your first payment you received?

GTB 03-14-2013 05:20 PM

21 day holds can appear at anytime, new / old / top rated / occasional seller

learn to live with them and when you dont have them its a bonus

keep accounts consistent, low risk and deal with any issues quickly and efficiently

if paypal deem your account to be a risk, more than likely you will get the 21 day holds

I don't sell any high risk or ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items.
I get my items direct from the manufacturer
