| horatiobottomley | 04-09-2013 03:41 PM | Dont phone ebay to get your seller limit raised Hi
Just providing this info in case it helps anyone.
Got kicked off ebay, havent we all. Opened a new account with new IP, new name, new address, same computer but killed all cookies including flash ones, new paypal.
Started slow with a few auctions them moved to buy it nows and opened a shop. 6 months down the line got organically to selling limit of 2460/£28300 and 99.8% 1000+ feedback.
All good, then I phoned ebay at their invitation to raise selling limits and they not only linked my account to my old one but all 7 of my old ones.
Dont know how they did it, and would be interested to find out. But obviously dont get caught out doing what I did! |
onlinegirl | 04-12-2013 11:35 AM | A hard lesson to learn. What a waste just because you couldn't wait a little bit longer. |
Bunneh | 04-12-2013 11:49 AM | I would never call ebay or paypal for anything11
Rather open more accounts and eventually you will have high limits on all of them. |
This always comes up, People are inpatient and then they pay the price. It's faster to open new accounts and sell on those accounts, unfortunately it's always newbies who make this mistake. |

You had that kind of a selling limit and phoned ebay to ask for more ? Why the hell would you want to do that when you had a very high limit anyway?
I phoned them today and got limits lifted. No problem what so ever. They probably linked you because of what you are selling rather than anything else. |

Lot of other posts to read on kirkie if this interests you.
The general recommendation is NOT to call eBay - paypalpains found out a negative action that hard way :( sucks to hear |
do you have any ideas on how they linked you ????? |
JamesNorth101 | 05-14-2013 04:00 PM | Must be absolutely devastated, very impressive limits though. Any idea how they linked you? |
yeah they were very impressive limits
in future, if it aint broke, dont try fix it!!!
the stealth way is to create more accounts to accommodate your selling
dont put all your eggs in one basket, but first things first, you really need to find out how they linked you!!! |
JamesNorth101 | 05-14-2013 04:09 PM | Looking at all the safe guards you took, the only way I can think they linked you is selling pattens, or a phone number. |
did you ever log into your old accounts at any stage after they were banned?
photos, did you clean them???
did you use the same photos as used on the banned accounts??? |

I hope you did not do a variation of an existing banned address?
Bottom line of stealth ( And running multiple accounts) is nothing must link you.
What about the bank, emails, phone numbers, photos, wording on listings.
Think over the entire set of accounts. Look for any info repeated or matching ( even remotely).
Must have horrible
 |
Sandy D | 05-14-2013 07:09 PM | This is why I never call ebay for anything.
Thus the reason the have multiple accounts running so you wont have to worry about account limits. |
Lex Luthor | 05-23-2013 06:14 AM | If you call eBay to increase your selling allowance they have to justify the increase. Therefore, they start to look around your account and see if you have other accounts associated with it. There are many factors that can link accounts so it won't have been difficult for them to link them all.
One thing that I do is ask them to increase the allowance and accept their first offer of increase. That way they won't look around too much and they want to get you off the phone as soon as possible. Also, it depends which advisor answers the call. |
GreenBean | 05-23-2013 06:18 AM | If you sell to your monthly limits, and let the account grow naturally, you can be spared having your account flagged. Limits happen.
There is no rush for getting higher limits.
This is a method used by many here and it works well.
