New Stealth MC067 + MC999

I have tried to create a new stealth account. I have followed the stealth guide and after listing 2 items i woke up this morning with my stealth account suspended.

The steps I followed were.

Created a new user account on computer
Unplugged power from router to create a new IP
Created Gmail account
Created ebay + paypal account. Used new sim and entropay vcc
Used ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and random (real) address less than 20 miles away.

What am I doing wrong?

GreenBean 07-25-2013 05:42 AM

What was the value of the items listed? High or low?

Was that paypal verified?

Not impressed with the name and address description.

Did you clear cookies etc and were you 100% sure the IP was new?

started listing at .99p with £2.10 p&p item would sell for between £2 - £15
I have Ccleaner but i used a new user account on my compuer so I didn't clear cookies.
I am sure I get a new IP address every time I unplug the router for a few mins.

Could have happened for a whole number of reasons. You'll never know for sure. Here's just a few:-

1. Paypal unverified.
2. Paypal not linked to ebay.
3. A suspended account at the address used.
4. Listing too quickly on a new account
5. High risk items
6. IP address not changed

Possible issues that jump out are the IP.

Possible issue is with cookies. What OS are you using?

And read Ebayorbust's response as well.

Windows 7,

It's definitely not my .ip. I have just checked my ip unplugged my router and re-checked and it has changed.

At a guess, I'd go for 1,2 or 4 from my list (or a combination of the three).

Futuremogul888 07-25-2013 06:12 AM

I'm willing to bet that you listed the items too quick after creating the account, OP. Should wait at least 30 days before listing first item.

Thanks, What steps do you think I can take to minimise this happening again?

Dmshark25 07-25-2013 07:00 AM

You definitely jumped Into selling to quick which makes you high risk

Create Paypal fully verify and confirm than create ebay

Do everything carefully and take your time like its ur first time selling

Always recommend browsing and bidding before listing on a fresh account - I used to do 4 weeks and have successfully bridged to 2 weeks of browsing and bidding before getting into the sales game

I posted this suggestion on another thread and I think this would apply in your case...

From day 1 to day 30, my account is just a buyer's account. Simple bidding, buying, and winning some cheap items to build up feedback.

After 30 days, I start to sell my first couple of items. I sell items that have high chance of getting positive feedback and low chance of returns.
After 60 days, I slowly increase - always varying the products.
After 90 days, once the limits are increased, I start to sell more - always staying under ebay's limit.

These are all efforts to stay un-noticed and under the radar...or stealth-like.

I am also a fan of verifying the pp account before doing anything :)

A little bit of an update. Thanks to all the advice here and re-reading the stealth guide, I have been successful in creating stealth accounts.

I have 2 ebay + 2 paypal accounts with random addresses that I have been browsing on and selling very basic items and I have created 1 ebay+paypal account with a mail box that I have just started to sell on and no issues yet.

I have just opened a new current account and I will be using this with my ebay account that is linked to my mail box.

A couple of questions. How can I raise my selling limits on my ebay accounts that have a random address, at the minute they are limited to selling 10 items?

Also, do you think it is too soon to send a raise selling limitation for the account that I have access to the address? When I have done this in the past ebay have posted out a 4 digit number to confirm the address.

Many thanks for all your help.

Thanks for the update and way to go! Now its time to nurture and build those stealths into strong accounts.

Its better to let your selling limits raise naturally over the course of time. Ebay will gradually increase you once you consistently hit those limits.

Don't do this. See comment above. If you feel your selling limitations are well, limiting you...then make a new stealth account. Spreading your sales across multiple stealths is preferred method for most.

Many thanks for your reply.

More stealth accounts mean i need more bank accounts, Is there anyway around this?

Are you tracking your IP's?

You have to do this especially if you are running multiple accounts.

There is always the slight chance that you may have recycled through an IP that you were using with a limited/banned/suspended account.

Just food for thought

Power cycling the router does not necessarily get a new IP. If you tracked your IPs, this is definitely where the mistake is.

Today on one of my stealth accounts i received a MC124 Notice: eBay Account Limited - Verify Identity

I have had all of my listings removed and limitations placed on my account. I probably started to list too many items too quickly which caused the notice,
(I listed the full 10 items after 1 week of opening the account)

Is there anyway around this notice, or do I just move on?

Ebayorbust 08-25-2013 07:01 AM

If you supply what they are asking for they should restore your account.

rich6666 08-25-2013 07:03 AM

They are requesting this:

- Front and back copy of your ID or passport.
- Copy of a document showing your address (if different from what is displayed on your identity document)

If you are a business user please send us a copy of the certificate of incorporation.

In addition, we ask you to provide a proof of ownership of the items you have posted on eBay. These may consist of:

- Copies of invoices or proof of delivery (pro-forma invoices are not counted as evidence of ownership) OR
- Customs documents, if you have purchased your goods abroad OR
- Availability of supplier confirmations OR
- Receipts for items purchased from a retailer
