Account in grave danger of being limited: best course of action suggestions

Anticipating a limitation due to a recent MC999 Trademark Violation, which obviously resulted in removal of the listing. Genuinely didn't know I wasn't supposed to list this particular item (legit but branded).

I can feel it's going to go down hill soon but recent sales mean I need to withdraw current funds from PayPal in order to have them in real life. In order to live.

I know that they can go after other items you've sold - long after you've sold them - and refund the buyers which then throws you into a negative balance.

If this happens, and the account get limited, how would I clear the negative balance? It's not as easy as selling something to 'someone' as the account would be limited.

Obviously not with attached bank account. Can you clear it with a VCC?

This hasn't happened yet but I absolutely have to withdraw the funds from recent sales in order to pay real life bills. I can't leave them in there to cover. I need the money.
And I just have a horrible feeling this account is going DOWN! :s

(I'm sure there used to be a way to view your policy breaches and see when they run out. Even though they never actually really run out...)

OR AM I BEING PARANOID...?

What is on your seller's dashboard?

Have you checked there recently?

VCC will work fine if you get a negative balance.

Hang in there. Look over the reasons & try to avoid for the future.

Good Luck

If the amount is very high and you dont have enough VCC OP, you can also look to 3v vouchers for use as payment

Re: Anticipating limitation...

Getting a trade mark violation doesn't always mean your account will be suspended soon. Vero strikes are usually a warning. Don't sell any branded items for a few month. Your account should be fine as long as you don't get anymore trademark violations.

How many feedbacks do I need?

My feedback is currently 71 on a new(ish) account.
My score is sadly 97.7% due to one negative feedback left by a very stubborn buyer.

I know I need to be at 98% for eBay to be 'happy'!
How many more positives do you reckon it will take to get me up there?

Cheers :)

My dashboard is terrible, honestly :(

I'm in the red on 2 'Low detailed seller ratings'- Dispatch Time & Communication.

In the red on 2 'Average detailed seller ratings' - Again, Dispatch Time & Communication.

And my feedback is red because I'm only 0.03% away from a 98% score - this is down to JUST ONE negative feedback...

I think low amounts of sales is counting against me. I need to list some smaller items quickly.

But I've been limited to 9 items a month until I improve my DSR's!
As my dad says, how can you improve when you're only allowed to sell 9 a month?

They do my head in! :faint:

Re: Anticipating limitation...

Regarding your existing account.

As far as e/b are concerned your performance is below par and to be honest their whole DSR system is designed to make it difficult for you to improve your performance, especially on a 'newish' account. They don't want poor performing sellers and in particular 'new' ones.

Simple answer is to leave this account alone for a while and open a new stealth which will give you a higher selling limit and a 'clean slate' to work from while you slowly repair the old account.

I am gussines here that you have 72 POS and 1 NEG, making your score 71 overall.

Are all of those in the last 12 months?

Bare in mind DSR is more important than feedback these days.

NoneOther 02-06-2014 08:31 AM

re: Account in grave danger of being limited: best course of action suggestions

Chasing feedback is the wrong way to deal with this situation because feedback on it's own is irrelevant, it is the DSR scores behind them that are important.

Your account is one step away from being permanently canned.

Can you guarantee you won't get any more negs or low DSR's?

If you do then the account will more than likely be permanently limited.

Open a new stealth account and let this one cool off and very slowly begin to repair the damage.

This score is over the last 12 months. I'm aware I'm on the edge and one more low rating will sink the account.

I would like to redeem myself and improve this account but, as mentioned in a different post this morning, I've been limited to 9 items a month until I improve. Very hard to improve with just 9 items a month :/

The more time that seems to go by with no activity, the negative scores on the DSR's are getting higher, not lower.

I know the scores are more important the the feedback itself but getting people to be bothered to leave the feedback/scores is the hard part. I've had many transactions where they haven't been bothered and I've politely sent follow up messages with no response.

As I said e/b do not make it easy hence the need to move on to a new account and let this one cool off

1. Make new accounts and start building.

2. This account needs about 10 quick sales for positive feedback - get on that /stat

rsot 02-06-2014 11:37 AM

Re: Anticipating limitation...

Need to start building other stealth accounts STAT - transition your sales - re-evaluate your business model to avoid repetition of these low-end scores

Soon as you got the first hiccup, you needed to go into damage control.

Were you checking frequently?

Sadly you compounded issues with the items you sold.

Redo that business plan. Even though you could make more stealth accounts, not much point unless you can address the problesm you have here.

Re: Anticipating limitation...

To be honest, there were maybe 5 times - TOPS - where shipping could have been faster. Down to a very complicated immune illness I've had for 17 years that's out of my hands.

But those 5 times obviously counted against me. Strange how people can't be bothered to rate you when everything's gone smoothly but they're straight on it when it's a day late!

New business plan in progress right now :ranger:
It's all good :)

Is this the same account you are thinking is going to get limited?

This is great advice and you should look into getting another account up and going just to have it.

Sell 10 pay as you go sim cards at auctions, start at 0.01p most that buy them are looking for positive feedback themselves, or some buyers may even tell you not to bother to post.
At same time build new accounts and keep this account on back burner till it is back to standard on dsr.

This approach has dangers on more than one level, would advise caution.

On an account that has already been flagged this could lead to further trouble from e/b for feedback manipulation.

Also there is no guarantee that he will get the desired feedback or DSR scores, still just as likely to get a neg or low scores.

Inherent risk of getting done for feedback manipulation.

Choice would need to be weighed up carefully.

best to start a new stealth account and start building that up slowly, hopefully this will be sorted in its own time as well so you will have 2 accounts
