Phoneboxes for verification of ebay seller account.

Ok so here is a very simple question.

When you list an item to sell for the very first time on ebay.co.uk, at the end of the listing, a box appears asking you to type in a landline number to verify you.

(Q) Will a public phonebox work?

I only tried this the once so it could be coincidence that it didnt work for me.
Already used all the numbers in my office, and my friends numbers.

What do you guys think? Did a phonebox number work for you recently?..
