Banned From eBay - Help
 

So, the dozy wife decided to sell a handbag on eBay as 'in the style of x' and managed to get my ebay store account banned. Tried to plead with eBay to get the restrictions listed but no luck. Got the dreaded 'indefinite selling restrictions' ban :(

Use eBay as a secondary business so really need to try and set up a new account. However hearing many things about how they can track your IP, Mac address, residential address etc etc.

Anyone know what exactly eBay uses to track users? Is it external, public IP or Mac address? i have secondary address and bank account i can use to set up a new account but need to make sure i get the IT side of it correct. Would using a secondary laptop suffice?

Welcome to the forum.
You need to buy the stealth guide in order to find out how to deal with those IP & address issues or at least browse the forum.. all the info is already there.

..these are things that could ruin a marriage... sorry for your account.

No need to use a second laptop. You just need to create other user account for the operating system you are currently using on your PC.
They track you IP with their servers as soon as you log into EB/PP.
They do not check your MAC address.
I suggest to have more than one account and spread sales.. works very well.

If you are planning to buy a ready made account do it in the market area only.

Follow Bunneh suggestion... do yourself a favor an buy the guide.
Lot of useful info there for you not to waste time and money.

Yeah but.... what dozy member of the same family let the wife use the account?

Be realistic. You both messed up. For the future, never let another person touch your account.

What we suggest with stealth is to have everything new and nothing linked to old accounts.

For you that will also include photos of your items.
