HELP!!!!! 2 Paypal, 1 eBay
 

So yesterday I reached my paypal 1900 limit and became limited, I submitted my docs and today I got an email to say the names on ID and paypal don't match, my error :s

So my question is can I link another paypal to the ebay account and continue selling until that paypal hits the 1900 limit? At that point I would then submit docs for that paypal?

I really don't want to loose the ebay account as it has good selling history and good feedback etc.....

No you can't just put another paypal in there EB & PP goes together.

What exactly happened?
You are not limited, right?
Did you receive an email from paypal saing what...? Just that the document were wrong?

Can't you provide the right documents for the questioned paypal and fix the situation?

The problem is the paypal account name is Alex X but the ID is in the name of Alex Z.

If I resubmit the ID with the correct names will it go through of will i become limited?

The eBay account isn't limited it's just that the paypal has become limited due to receiving too much....

I thought it was possible to simply add another paypal account to the ebay account no???

You cannot just simply add another PP account ....PP isnt a fool to NOT see old pp link.

You need to submit ID that matches the account info...if your ID is different, you risk being denied.

I guess your only choice is to submit the Alex X ID and see what happen...

Wait for others members' opinion about it but do not attach another paypal :nono:

I understand paypal will see that the account is linked to the previous one, but if I make the account in the correct name and then add it on surely it would be OK?

If it won't be OK what would you suggest?

1) Do I get the ID changed and resubmit?
2) Call in and explain the problem between names on the paypal and ID?
3) Add a new paypal to the eBay and continue selling? If they limit me then I submit the matching IDs.

It wont be ok because PP will see other account is limited...it's too easy to see (even though some ppl have had some success)

3) is NOT good option. 2) ...is also no good, PP may or may not understand - it's risky.

So that being said...only leaves 1)...I can't say much more than that

But will paypal not just see that I have changed the last name and resubmitted the ID?

I've never heard of them letting you submit the ID again after it fails, usually they part ways..

Also if you change the name on the ID.. what about the picture lol..

Exactly - The ID is correct except for the last name......

I am tempted to simply sign up to a new paypal account with matching info and link it to the ebay account.... Really is this a dead cert limitation?

If I don't do this it looks like the eBay account is done unless another has any suggestions?

...the only thing you can try is to submit another ID with matching PP details... a brand new one (with different picture) and see if they can possibly believe it is your cousin... stepbrother... whatever.

If you can do that with minimum effort (because of tiny chances to succeed) that is is what I would do to avoid losing the Ebay account... if you can't, well, both the accounts are gone.

1 - Try resubmitting the ID if PP does allow it.
2 - Try accepting another payment method and you may get a bit more use out of the EB account

So creating a new paypal with the correct information and submitting the docs etc is a no no......

So I need to buy a new ID and submit and keep fingers crossed, although I really can't see paypal accepting it......

I guess the eBay account is dead too....

Any new paypal you link to your current ebay account will get closed while your old paypal account is limited.

You ebay and paypal accounts are linked.. so if you cannot get the limitation removed then you will never be able to use your ebay account and will have to start all over again from scratch.

The reason PayPal want the docs is to confirm who you are for their records, in case anyone ever needs to know, it's their moral obligation as a money transfer service.

So, adding a new PayPal would be pointless, as many people have pointed out, as they want to know who you are.

Just submit the correct docs and wait, if they ask, can you say you got married and changed your name recently..? Male or female's can change their name on marriage, so it might be a good excuse?

Ugh - resubmission will likely fail as well since PP would easily be able to compare it to old one

Agreed...resubmission is doomed to fail on this one as they will have copies of the original docs you sent
