Other ebay account I hardly went on is blocked, now concered for my current account
 

On the 29th of july I created a new ebay account with the exact same information as my current ebay stealth account. Since the 29th of july I have hardly logged into my other ebay account,.. then just about an hour ago I decide to log into the new ebay account and it says

Your eBay account was suspended because recent account activity has raised serious security concerns. We've taken this precaution to protect our members while we make sure that the activity doesn't cause harm -- however unintentionally -- to the eBay Community.

You won't be able to use eBay in any way. This includes using another existing account or registering a new account.

Any outstanding selling fees are due immediately, and any amounts that you haven't previously disputed will be charged to the billing method currently on file.

Within the last 5 days I have received 2 ebay messages on my current stealth ebay account asking for me to input a 4 digit code, ebay called me and I got the code and put it in, since then everything has been okay, but with my brand new account just been blocked (aug 5) what will happen to my ebay stealth account that iv had for 2 years. Should I contact ebay on the other new account that has just been blocked and explain that I hardly used that account thus never got the message, or keep low and just hope that when they asked for the 4 digit code that suffice as a security clearance for my current account.

P.s. I was at a friends house about 2 weeks ago and logged in from my laptop from their internet connection. But their ebay is in good standing, and their only buyers, so I wouldnt think that has anything to do with my new ebay account being blocked, bu may have something to do with ebay wanted to verify me twice in one week.

New account was for selling junk, current account is for selling only certain type of items that I wanted to keep the current account looking professional

Should I contact ebay and explain the situation,or just stay low for now and see what happens? On the other new account they only gave 48 hours to reply. So on aug 5th they blocked that account. So its been a week and my current account is still up.

You got a MC999 asking you to contact them within 48 hours right?

I take it you listed an item within 24 hours of creating your account?

Why didn't you contact them? Should have been a fairly easy phone call if you told them as you just said, re wanting to keep business and personal stuff seperate.

2. Yes, I listed a item for 0.99 just to make sure everything was set up correctly, I should have ended the item shortly after.

My main question is should I contact ebay and tell them the reason why I did not get back to them after 48 hours, and why I have the second account. What information will they want from me to unblock?

I have kept a file of all the stealth information, address, phone number, name, DOB, email, everything .

Its been 7 days since they blocked my new account, since then on my current account they have requested me to verify myself by sending me a 4 digit code. Would they have blocked my current account by now? 7 days on?

You need to contact them.

All the scaremongering on the forums about contacting them 95% of it relates to the USA.

In the UK they can't pull credit files and ask personal questions like they do in America.

At worse they'll ban your account, at best it'll be reinstated (out of 7 MC999's I've had since they introduced the 48 hour contact, i've had every account reinstated with a phone call)

Name, Rank, serial number.

Try not to feed them too much info.

Follow their questions and dont feed them extra.

Is it inevitable that they will block my main current account? if so then ill just call em and get it over with and tell em the situation in a nutshell, but if not I really dont care about the other new account being blocked as long as it doesn't effect my current account.

Is ebay chat ok to explain to ebay the situation? Do I have to Call?

Here on ebay uk we have ebay chat 24/7

would give me more time to respond to any questions

Every time i've had a MC999 it's been a foreign call centre where english is clearly a 2nd or even 3rd language. Not an issue.

If your not confident on the phone, theres people that can make the call for you for a fee.

Id be calling from my mobile phone, my new mobile number is not registered with ebay yet, and I believe that should be done first, may I ask how you register mobile phone number with ebay, they have changed the site around abit since I registered my last number with them,
