my old account is suspended. but i am now signing up my girlfriends account on my pc. i use t-mobile broadband which i guess uses a dynamic IP address? but when i go to log into ebay it already recognises my old user and asks for password.so will i be linked here,is this to do with cookies?

Got a lot more to do with the fact that YOU have no clue as to what you are doing. Please read the forum more. I have sent you a message about the Stealth Book. Once you get more info, you will understand better.

ok.well im not all techie on computers like.ive deleted all cookies and changed the settings to block all cookies.it was just a simple question i have bin browsing the forum all week for advice.

Yes, it's the cookies if it already knows your id when you are on ebay and nothing to do with your ip in this case. Blocking cookies won't work since you won't be able to login without cookies. You will have to manually delete all the cookies. Not sure if you know how to do this but I recommend first getting firefox brower since it's a better browser overall in my opinion.

Most of the time clearing cookies requires that you go to

Tools>Options>Delete/Clear Cookies

but requires a few extra step, just a matter of finding the right buttons.

i maybe should of explained my 1st post a bit better.
it is a new address,landline,bank account,e-mail,paypal etc. so its just this bit im not so sure on.
i do use firefox so i just clear all private data before each log in ?
the user name does remain there when i do this,is that some other settings on the pc?

From what I can tell, you're saying in the login box, your name appears there.

As long as you don't login with it, there should be no linking. It's just a form. As long as you don't click sign in and send any data to them, they can't know what's in the forms.

Might be a good idea to get rid of it.. search the login name in the registry cause you might be drunk one day and accidentally sign in

yeah when i first open ebay.co.uk at the top it says hello **-****! not you? sign in!
so is this remembering me i guess so.

Yes Jake, clear all private info, that should remove any memory info (hello ..... , not you)

hope this helps, and i'd advise you to change your ip again just in case
