Do you mean for a new or exisiting account?

Hi
If its for a new account.

I think it would be ok, but why not change your whole name altogether? at least this way you know that its all changed and there would be no linking.

if its for an existing account then i dont understand why you would want to change your name unless your a lady thats just got married and you want to keep ebay up to date.

changing name

I think i know what you mean, Ive been suspended dont know how may times times, I normally miss a letter out of my second name eg if i was called smith I would put sith or smit always works for me untill it comes to ebay fee payment time, I can never get past 2 months, so hit em hard then try again

You have different options for name, personally Ive started giving completely false names because I have no intention of ever giving ebay/paypal my real ID, to use and abuse!

But stealth guide makes a valid point, if you want to keep your account reasonably longterm, says try and keep as much real info as possible, so, you you have different address from suspended one obviously, but you can use your own name if really common one, like robert smith but different dob. If fairly common, just use middle name and surname. This is because if you need to show id, if they ask later on you can give real id for name (obviously for address ID you will need to get inventive, but it is a simple way round it, name id is harder).

If your name stands out then change it completely (sorry mr cheesebottom!)

On one of the later episodes of the show Fringe they talked about how when people make aliases, they keep their first name and just use a different last name. On The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Sarah and John Connor always did that when they made aliases. So I'd think eBay would do some statistics and figure that out -- and even if not, if they manual review and go "hmm are these the same person?" and see the same first name, then they'd suspect so.
