How long for eBay documents?
 

How long is eBay taking these days to review documents?

Sent some in to reinstate an account on October 23rd. Was told the usual 72 hours but as of today, I still haven't heard anything.

Been in touch with eBay Chat a few times and they (apparently) keep escalating the case for me so it gets noticed - and keep being told that I will certainly hear back from them within the next 72 hours! - but nothing seems to come of it.

How long do these things usually take? The attached working PayPal account is fully verified with the same documents, no limits and is attached to my website.

It does usually take 24-72 hours, if didn't heard anything it might would be good idea to reupload documents so it gets noticed. Last time I've been asked to upload documents to eBay couple days ago it didn't get checked and guy on eBay chat told me that they are asking for ID in addition to Driving licence which was supplied.

72 hours to a week nowadays...

In the USA, doc department wont look at them for at least 12 days. They are backed up because of the higher request preparing for the holidays.

Well it's been 3 weeks today since I originally submitted.

I sent them in again 2 days ago and was told yesterday on Chat that they have been forwarded to the 'relevant department' with a note that says 'Urgent'.

I'm assured I will hear within 48 hours but I'm not holding my breath.

I wonder if the delay is due to the account being suspended 3 years ago and this is the first time I've tried to fight for it.

Probably should have sent in documents when they were originally requested.

From what I hear weeks is normal for the UK anyways. Many threads saying six weeks.

I hate to sound like a moron, but here goes anyway......I have 4 ebay accounts they are all only 10 items limit so I'm in the throws of buying a stealth account for 500 items from one of the sellers on here. I've never been asked by ebay for documents on the other accounts so please tell me what docs they are asking for and why? will they pounce on me with the stealth account?

The usual type of documents required are an ID (passport, drivers license...) and proof of address (utility bill, bank statement) but they can ask for whatever they decide they want to see. For example, to prove you own the attached PayPal account, they may want to see your recent transaction history.

Most eBay/PayPal accounts will need documents at some point. Ebay may ask for them if you want to increase your selling limits or if something goes wrong with your account. PayPal will ask for them if you want to lift your receiving limits.

My case is unique in that it was suspended 3 years ago and eBay think somone else used my account. I'm having to prove it belongs to me.

It's been another 72 hours since I sent the documents for a second time and - surprise surprise - I still haven't heard back.

All I get on chat/phone is an eBay rep telling me they'll forward it on for it to be reviewed. I must be in a very, very long queue!

I'm thinking I'll give up on this and focus on my other accounts. Anyone reckon they'll eventually get around to it, or do I have to keep checking in with them?

Because, honestly, I'm getting bored now.

You should given the info about the account being suspended years ago.

ebay could take days to act on this....

Last account I tried to restore took nearly 5 weeks.

I think I said something about it 5 days ago but I didn't think to mention it before. It's only just occurred to me that it may be the reason it's taking so long. It's been nearly 4 weeks now.

I remember I listed a 'test' listing that got pulled down pretty much straight away. They asked for the documents back then but I never got around to it. Daft thing is the PayPal account with the same details is still strong, all limits removed and is attached to a wesbite.

Do I have to keep chasing them? Or will they do it without me 'reminding' them all the time?
