I tested on Etsy.. I used a different name to my bank account name and the withdraw went through fine.. I'm assuming it will be the same for eBay.

Around 7 days ago.. I used a monzo account in my own name and an Etsy account in a stealth name.

There has been some discussion about this on the eBay forums, as many users have Etsy accounta, and mismatched names and need for ID has been fine on Etsy, and they are confused why eBay is requesting all of this.

I think every seller is just worried If it’s like Etsy it’s good news for stealth accounts then.

Maybe they will allow unmatched names to last for a short while and then once you hit a certain threshold they will want all the relevant docs.

Ebay and mp are different companies so it really should not matter I hope. Just like ebay and pay pal no one knows what's going on with mp it's a big fin,mess

Banks like Monzo aren’t currently sent up so that the name on the account can be checked. It’s generally the main banks that currently do this

That’s not true.. I do transfers from monzo almost everyday and I can tell you it is set up but it’s caused 0 issues with mismatch names from PayPal

Yes I've tried, but was denied because the name of the ebay account did not match with the bank account. My account is still up.. for now.

It seems from a few threads on the US community boards, that mismatched names work, but further down the line eBay claim there is an issue. I presume, the initial setup is automatic, then back office manual checking happens. Maybe.

Does the exact name need to match? Or eBay address have to be the same as bank? I got email yesterday “ We need help verifying your personal details”. Currently my eBay address is different than my address on my bank

I did but not on ebay ,i was trying to send money trought mobile app to someone .I accidentally put a wrong name and transfer was denied .Under new system bank need to comply, names must exactly match

You can use a different card with different name. The only way you not will be able to link it to paypal just if it was linked already.

I was asked to verify my bank details.

They gave me two options, either upload a bank statement or log in to online banking using through their link (not 100% sure how it works as I opted to upload bank statement)

I have not been given that option as of today, can you clarify Saadra,
It is either link your sort code account number directly via one of the main banks, or manually add your sort code and account number, No option to upload a bank statement...

I paid a lot for a stealth account but my bank details weren't added. I don't want to do it wrong, screw it up and lose the money I paid if I can learn from someone here.

From this forum authorised seller. Or at least he was when I purchased months ago don't know if he still is most of the sellers on here seemed to have disappeared.

I did once last year, it says it is being verified, 14 days later it is indefinitely suspended.
I did it again this year, and it was fine. So who knows what ebay is doing
Do you guys think i should change the bank to virtual bank soon? So they dont come back to ask me more info? Thanks!

And to answer your question - stealth is very much Alive and well I will be posting a success story from last year, but mismatched names are not a problem. It does depend who you buy from as some sellers are better than others, overall my test pilot of running 2 stealth MP accounts last year was very successful considering I was new to stealth MP system & that I traded a bit late during the season
