I suggest you write what it is you are expecting from us with this post?

Im not expecting anything from you chum, its information for yourself, and others - a UK CS response to the MP deadline in the UK, which everyone involved in UK MP will find of interest for sure. :cheer:

Hi mate, I believe your username is visible on the screenshot. I believe you might want to remove that picture ASAP.

Re: Who Knows? No one knows!

There is no deadline. There never had been.

There is an express interest option at the moment for accounts that want to apply in the UK. It’s the first phase of what will be a fairy long process. How long? No one knows. Best guess would be around a year though.

PayPal will not stop getting accepted as of the 15th July. That is simply when some people will start to use MP

Not entirely accurate. The 'express interest' is not out of choice, in fact its prelimary activated on many business seller accounts many who never asked for it.

However, I do agree, the information from eBay over this is vague, hence why I posted this response as its the first time I have seen something from CS that says it is not mandatory from the 15th even if you have been 'chosen' to be a first adopter.

Whether it is true or not, is anyones guess.

Indeed.

Sadly, the extension of the thread I took it from, other sellers have been told categorically that 15th July is the deadline. So as per the title, no one knows!

One CS Rep even told it would work like this.

Once 'activated' for MP on your sellerhub console, which all my accountds have (not out of choice), at some point towards the end of the July I will be automatically switched over to MP, i will stop recieving payments to my PP account. The payments will go the MP ebay account, and I have to register to 'claim' those payments.

So essentially, its best to put your shop on holiday mode if this happens if you are waiting it out to see what can/can't work.

However this of course may not even be true!

What a cluster **** this.

I've multiple 10 year old stealths working smoothly.

I'm still hoping we can ignore the MP for the time being, but if i was made to bet, i would say we are changing next month, we have no choice.

As best as I can tell it seems to be getting made mandatory for some accounts and optional for other accounts but no one in eBay seems to actually know when a final deadline will come for all accounts

You are pretty behind the times on this.

Those that have the emails, are going to be mandatory. This is who we are all referring to, as we have all had the emails and the introduction of the MP box on the seller hub. This is the concern and what the discussions have mainly been about, not some two bob seller who hasnt had any any emails about MP.

Here is the latest on all of mines, same accounts. Now, they do not state they are turning me off, but instead unable to create new listings. How long this will rmemain, if it happens, is of course anyones guess.

That is literally exactly what I just said....

For some accounts it’s mandatory (lots of accounts got the notice this morning) and for others it’s not yet mandatory, but there is no clear deadline when it will be. It could be that they will get the exact same email in a weeks time it could be that they will get it in a few months. eBay has provided absolutely no clarity on it

The majority of dicussion in this section is from those already signed up on behalf of eBay, whom will be affected first.

Hardly anyone will have much interest in MP yet if they arent opted in.

Right now, since today, the deadline of 15th July has been made more extreme, I doubt anyone gives a fudge about a two bob seller who isnt even signed up or involved in MP yet.

Everything you have written has been known for months, its not new information.

0 interest in squabbling with you. Your arguing for the sake of it constantly and it’s not productive.

The latest message is quite different to what eBay has been saying the last few months. I have had this email through in accounts that have only sold 40 odd items over a few months so it is effecting small accounts as well. It’s happening to both accounts that have and have not expressed interest

I’m sure there will be work around a bit it is a worrying time for a lot of eBay sellers. Both real and stealth

What am I missing? What do real sellers have to be worried about?

JamesNorth101 06-25-2020 04:07 PM

Re: Who Knows? No one knows!

A lot of real sellers don’t want payments going directly into their bank account. Lots of sellers also sell items under £10, and use PayPal micropayments they will be worse off

As much as we as stealth users dislike PayPal, they are better than eBay in many ways. Real account holders feel the same way a lot of the time

Have a read on the eBay community fbusiness seller forum, a lot of real sellers showing their annoyance.

Theres other elements - maybe stock purchasing, paying for postage etc. With PP, you can do all of these seemlesly, now you have to juggle money around, and have to 'wait' till the MP deposit happens etc. Some people want to avoid the government, some want to avoid partners/ex partners etc, some where bankrupts and use other peoples bank accounts to be able to run and make a living.

Lots of reasons I guess..these probably don't even touch the surface.
