HOW does ebay check names on bank accounts?
 

So this discussion has been done a zillion times now.
Just wondering HOW does ebay check names on bank accounts?

Someone uses a mismatched name
HOW do they check?

Is it because of changes in banking regulations that now reveals names?

They gave me two options, either upload a bank statement or log in to online banking using through their link (not 100% sure how it works as I opted to upload bank statement)

logging in through their link is a bit ott - normally reserved for accounting software like quickbooks.

Did u submit a real statement or photoshopped?

Faster payments now have name validation so they may use that. Otherwise a direct debit mandate fail. But both of those don't reveal the actual name so shouldn't link you.

in USA they don't really check names. They can't see it unless you withdraw from the bank to add to your PP balance. And even then they don't take a look unless an account is flagged

This is what I keep wondering. Unless they are making a withdrawal from your account I don't see how a creative bank statement wouldn't work.

They do a soft credit check.

When it comes back as 'warning the dude or dudette does not exist', they as for ID, as the credit search/electoral rolls can have errors or omissions.

Anyway, search and research for solutions yourself. Anyone with the intellect to obtain this and successfully run this kind of set up is not going to message and help a noob being lazy. Posting a piss poor question like a child.
