What approach have you guys taken with MP?

I have a stealth business account under a stealth name. Should i wait it out past the 15th July date or any suggestions?

Theres three options from what I can tell.

1. Turn the account legit, use a friend/family details, or risk your banned own ones with the fear of linking.

2. Opt to Stealth it, and hold your breath, and acquire neccesary bits and bobs that they will request when the credit search fails on finding you.

3. Wait it out till 15th and see if eBay are bluffing, but if they arent then watch no new listings, and no quantities able to be added. Or, you may be able to still take payments, but watch eBay hold the money until you register with MP for the dispersal.

It's a stressful time for all Stealthers in the MP pool choosing which way to go.

I have been going through this forum for ages in search for answers. I was simply curious as to how most of you guys have set yourselves up.

Some are opting to Stealth, some are opting to Legit.

I don't think anyone will wait till 15th unless they have alternative incomes so they can put their stores on holiday mode for a few weeks to see how the land lies.

Re: What approach have you guys taken with MP?

If i go legit, i guess that would mean using my real name and bank details. I was told you can't change your name so how would i go about this? If i opt for stealth i guess you mean same stealth details and bank account but risk potential mismatch?

Yes you can change your name, on a business account.

and yes, obviously. Have you read any of the MP threads? You'll also need a bank statement and ID for the mismatch.

Thanks for your Help Pathos. I'm considering changing name and going legit as i only have one big stealth account but then worried if it will effect my current linked Paypal. If i choose the stealth option do you think my address needs to match or is it just the name that shows on a bank mismatch. Thanks

It wont affect PayPal, but there are steps you have to take to ensure a higher likelyhood of success, you need to think it all through and use your nuggin.

You will need a bank statement to match your account and address you have used on the Stealth...and then ID.

The threads on MP have already pretty much said all of this multiple times though.

Tbf, some people just want it all laying out on a plate for them, which isn't fair to all the people who found out the info and have already shared it in conversation.

I think i am going to take the route of waiting it out and see what happens.

I do know that i will be turning at least 1 stealth into a legit one but i will wait as this might be a bluff for the 15th and i don't think its a bad idea to see how things pan out before making the final decision.

But what do i know eh.

It wasn't in America...

If going this route, it might be worth putting your shop on holiday mode, because they may just continue allowing payments, which you have to sign up toMP to claim, and then if they deny the MP account, they will keep your dollar..

I’m doing the same, no active listings might just whack it on holiday mode anyway

I think it is quite ridiculous fair enough they wanted to this for ages but we’ve got one of the worst recessions and mass unemployment to deal with soon - this would be the cherry on the cake

We already got a 8 inch shaft, the final 2 inch MP going to give us

Hope it works out for everyone

What wasn't in America? Bluffing?

I know we will go to MP at some point I'm just not giving up hope we may get a little while longer.

I don't mind them keeping a days worth of payments from me. I feel like it's worth it by just waiting this out to see how everything goes.

I can make better decisions if I can see the facts.

In the US, they restricted sales, and quantities on GTC.

Sadly, you will never get 'facts' on the forum, they are all told in secret as been discussed before. It's probably best just use the snippets of info on the threads, and form your own opinion..but if you can afford to holiday mode for a while in the hope more info comes up, then it can't hurt I guess?

I'm going to have to spend money and open shops for my stores so I can holiday mode too.

I totally agree about the timing of this. I am a little shocked that they would make these changes with the current climate.

Its not like there is going to be many jobs around for a good while, if you rely and Ebay to make your living and this MP wipes you out. It's terrible.

I didn't know that the US have actually got to that stage. Bummer.

Yeah its understandable people keeping this stuff close to there chest. I am a member of another forum that covers Ebay. If they do report anything I will be sure to pass the info over here.

Well, I've been here for 12 years, and helped lots of people with Amazon stealth. When have I told anyone what they can and can't post?

Finally, are you really Jay from The Inbetweeners?

Another quality post full of information and discussion around Managed Payments.

Oh you're still speculating unless you provide proof, but how others feel they can instil confidence in the process is entirely subjective, therefore will no doubt be of benefit if they choose to trust you.

Freakzilla 07-01-2020 10:16 AM

Re: What approach have you guys taken with MP?

I've been here a long time. Go through my previous posts and tell me where I've been wrong. That instils confidence. I have nothing to gain. I don't speculate like you do, I deal in facts.

You do seem Wired again today.

Don't worry, with your knowledge everything will be ok.

Thats cool, you don't need to convince me, I take no notice of you, but if you need to validate yourself, as it seems you do, feel free.

First time I’ve come across you I’ve been here 3/4 years. Anyway, people who genuinely contribute don’t have to go about proving it - they’d already have a reputation of it

And back to the original point you told that guy to search the forums for answers - there’s only one post and even that’s speculative you can’t blame the chap for asking
