UK MP - SOLUTION - change registration site and country?

Hi,

There are still some countries where the MP doesn't work and they will not introduce it.

What do you think about changing the eBay registration site from, let's say, UK to Latvia and then change the registration address into Latvia as well. The one thing for which I am sure you will need to change the "item's location" into Latvia then, to avoid VAT registration.

I think it will extend the "life" of the accounts but the visibility of the listings will be decreased (due to item's location).

The main question is, if the account was already invitied to register for MP and you change the registration site, will they remove the invitation?

Thanks

Ideas are good. It is how we will get through this.
Keep thinking there is a solution!

the whole thing is still early days.. we need people to update the boards when they are forced to register for MP.. both success and failures will build a picture of a correct and new stelth process.

I like that idea, what about something closer to the UK like the .ie site? Surely that site will be easier to set up without having to translate anything.

https://ecommercenews.eu/ebay-expand...nts-in-europe/

This says that France, Italy and Spain are on the mp list.

Anyone checked the solution with changing the registration address and item location?

Exactly, if people don't share their experiences we will be stuck at square one.

if your main target market is the UK, changing the registration address and item location outside of UK will result in lower traffic

Yes, it will, but it's better to have something than nothing. Also it will give another tip how the MP works.

Please notice that there is information that some categories are not allowed in MP.

Does this mean that if I list for example items for adults or downloadable products they will disable the MP? I am courious about this, because it might be a way to extend life of the accounts

I looked at the a*den site. These are the countries that it operates in:

Austria
Australia
Belgium
Canada
Croatia
Czech Republic
Estonia
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Ireland
Italy
Latvia
Lithuania
Luxembourg
Netherlands
Poland
Portugal
Slovakia
Slovenia
Spain
Switzerland
United Kingdom (including Isle of Man & Jersey)
United States

I wonder if all of those countries will be switched over in the coming months/years.

I don't think so small eBay sites will switch to eBay payments managed. I spoke with eBay and they are not going to introduce this in Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania etc.

Seems a lot of hassle. Wouldn't you be better off starting of new accounts as might just take them a year to invite newer ones in if not heavily used, spread the sales and by then hopefully its figured out by a genius here.

Soon not only MP will be an issue, but a changing EU VAT directive. All thresholds like 35k will be gone, and it will be one 10k threshold and after its reached no matter in what country you are registered you will need to have a VAT number. Thats going to be an issue which will not be ever workout with stealth techniques, but only much more accounts not to reach the 10k. And from what i understand, its not a country related 10k threshold, but EU sales in general threshold!

10K is enough for me since i operate at around 40-50% profit margin.
I dispose of stealth accounts after the £500 mark and made £200ish after a few days and reset and make around £700-£800 a week 3 accounts a week

This is where most of my work goes to and to make £700 a week i only a spend a few hours a week overall, maybe 8-9 hours. I used to work 80 hour week a couple years before when i was 19 during my summer holidays between uni semester and only got paid £500 after tax lol so gthis experience motivates me a lot to work on maintenance and not chase more money till im certain
