ebays fees and now some sort of added TAX?
 

Hi Guys
so I have a MP account now - just activated this week

looking at the fees as it shows on statement!

ebay are taking out final value fee which is fine but what is this TAX next to it!

its bumping the money taken away from me right up?

what is it can I have an explanation

I wondered this myself. I feel that since MP the fees at the end of sales are actually higher than before? correct me if im wrong?

MP fee is Ebay fee and processing fee ,it replaces Paypal fee.

dunno know about UK,in USA,Ebay will take sales tax from the buyer and remit to the state he resides in,unless he is a retailer ,then he is exempted

there actually 3 fees on the statement - ebay fee - processing fee per transaction - then another which just says TAX

on an £80 sale im losing about £12 which is far greater than the 10% normal fees from before

ebay said it was cheaper to use MP - Im pretty sure they lied

It not any cheaper at all it's just easier for getting payments and because you don't have PayPal fees ebay charge this PayPal fee instead

did Ebay collect more than your item plus shipping fee,then the difference is buyer sales tax which it remits t o the state,this is how US transaction works,unless buyer is a reseller and exempt from paying sales tax.

ebay said it is cheaper,but may be a little,Paypal charges 30 cents transaction fee,MP charges less

It's nothing more than VAT, you've always paid VAT on your fees.
