managed payments on personal account
 

Hi all,
Been off ebay for a few months and now looking to start selling again.

I have 3 personal stealth accounts, 2 in random names & 1 in my name.
All been going a couple of years & passed all previous verification checks.

Really not sure how to pass MP on a stealth account - I have had emails on all 3 asking to migrate to MP.
The linked bank accounts are in my name, so will this flag straight away?
Is there any way around this?
Also, will stealth ID docs work with MP?

Apreciate any assistance.

I am in a similar situation, except one of my account is in my friends name and using his name on the account etc, ideally need to use my bank account, as I do not want to send funds to my friends bank account

I hope someone knows.

I did watch a youtube on managed payments, they seemed to suggest that eBay will perform a soft credit check on the bank account details that you supply, so that it matches the name on the ebay account...

No way MP on stealth, no matter what people say on here.

Just give all your real info and be done with it.

If they ban you then worry about making a stealth account in MP.

I am in the same position but with one very good standing account 7 years 150k limit 2.5k sales a month,
Not selling any thing dodgy !
Been looking at these threads for hours trying to work out the best way,
please correct me if I am wrong ��
eBay has never had our bank details to cross ref ?
We can use our real names but they wouldn’t ban just by changing a name to the same name that has happened to be banned 5 years ago ?
Soft search shouldn’t address match ?
If they did ask for ID that could be obtained through “friends” ?
If you have multiple stealth accounts they are not linked so even if you use your real name on those with different bank accounts, can’t see why eBay would question it ?
Even though we have to be careful, I was worried but maybe overthinking it ?

Real name, real bank account + wrong adress (and ⊗⊗⊗⊗ documents when they ask it) can pass ? I changed all to 100% real so I didn t try ⊗⊗⊗⊗

No you are wrong I have been running a full stealth account on management payments now for 5 months

Hmm, I signed up for MP but never received that eBay message! Which is worrying.

Give it try freind as we have nothing to lose. If you don't update to the new payment system, you wont be able to list or sell, so go ahead.

I just updated a second account and went smoth so far, but time will tell, hopefully they won't need anything else, although it does say in their email that completed no further action is needed!

Did you just change your ebay details to your real name and dob before setting up MP.

I had that on a couple of accounts , it seems to come randomly and unfortunately it is not verified , the actual verification for additional documents came later. I still think that using real details is the way to go , this might not allow 20 accounts but very well 2-3 very stable genuine accounts where large volumes could be slowly developed

I left the made up name as it was as it might raise any red flag. if they ask later I will say that it was the fault of the '' auto correct'' option in my computer.

Note: if you put a address that ebay system can't find it, then you make sure it find it before applying, as might fail to verify you.

For now, is all good, not sure what other paper work do they ask later, perhaps time will tell!!!

My bold. I guess I'll know in afew days if I've passed the verification as on Saturday/Sunday it will be two weeks since I signed up.

i got this a few days ago put the 2 micro deposits in and all ok, apart from ebay saying they will withdraw the two micro deposits this may take 2 to 3 days .

Maybe savings accounts are good as the deposit withdrawal will fail as savers are not meant for direct debit

Does anybody else think that eBay might be verifying personal MP accounts differently to business accounts? Maybe they arent so strict until you turnover a certain amount of money (like Paypal).

One thing I know is that UK government has asked ebay and Amazon to be more strict who is making money and to pass on that data back to government, so the tax man can knock in your door if you have not declare it. I think this is leading to that point, is a matter of time I guess.

Also, If they they roll on the ''no cash society and digital money only'', there will be no place to hide, it will be a total government control, that is why covid scam is happening, for many reasons of course and I know I am getting out of the theme here a bit, but it is important that people are kept informed

What exactly is being checked by trustly? Clearly they are checking the name/bank details. Are they also checking address and DOB? If you enter a correct DOB on trustly, are ebay cross reverencing this with what they hold for you?

I am sure many would agree we would rather pay tax than end up on unemployment benefit because Ebay stealth is no more.

This is where it could all fall apart if you are not using your real name for eBay account that matches your bank account.
I believe eBay will see the name for this bank account when they take the microdeposits out
They may flag the mismatch.
I hope I'm wrong because this is what I will have to go through with my MP accounts soon

The two deposits option won't work, as has been said above, eBay will see the name on the bank account. If that name doesn't match the name on the eBay account then its bye-bye account.

Only option if you're not using genuine details on the eBay account is create f.a.k.e docs.

I put the xxxx details in as per the account. Logged in and did the check. Got an email from eb to say it has all passed and thanks for updating. The dd is set up. The only glitch is that trustly pulled my real name. So this missmateches my eb but eb say its still passed?? What other personal details does trustly check? Just bank account name and numbers or more???

I've given up on my business account and MPs as I signed up for it and nothing happened. eBay didn't send me a message that I was signed up and my account was restricted so i can only sell £10 of good a month!

last night I signed up on my private account and it went through fine.
On my private account (to sign up for MP) I changed to my real name and DOB, my address is OK - I use my real address (because i moved here a few years ago).
Luckily I used my real surname on my eBay account just a different first names so maybe that will get me through any future checks?
So signing up all details are now real.

So you changed the stealth to real? Please keep us updated on how the process went, am in the same situation, I dont want to change to real unless I absolutely have to.

MP is actually a saver for me in a way, as paypal kicked me out last year, so the Personal account has been laying dormant.

Also I like to talk about Facebook Marketplace, after I was kicked by paypal I moved my business there, and its been absolutely amazing, I cant look back now, in fact I intend to keep 80% of Business there.

There are just some stuffs that are difficult to move on Facebook, thats why I still need Ebay, as it gives you National and International coverage, if it wasnt for that then I might just leave Ebay.

Facebook has Zero fees, no shipping fees, and you can accept cash all day long, so absolutely no trail if you want.

Yes local and not so local, as I have customers travelling from different cities half of the time.
