Ebay new account old real details
 

Hi, apologise if the question has been raised many times before, I have recently returned to askpin and am not up to date with the situation on ebay since they have disassociated from paypal.

If i had a ebay account which was suspended or banned over 10 years ago due to paypal, am i able to use the same name and bank details and passport for ID (my real details for personal account) to register with ebay for a new account now? Or will my previous details from 10 years ago be an issue in regards to MP check.

There’s a lot of mixed opinions

I tried to do what you’re asking but I did get suspended

I was told by a Senior here that it was due to listing too quick

I’d advise you to make the account, build cookies / watch items for 2 weeks, and then do your first listing and see what happens

Either way it’s worth giving a shot in your case

Did you use your old burnt bank account with the new ebay account or a new one? Im thinking of using my old bank account from 10 years ago which got burnt via paypal on ebay.

Hello all, I'm new here! I too was banned about 7 or 8 years ago and I never was too bothered. However I'm older now and looking to make some legitimate money selling items.
Would if be enough to open a new account with a new bank account + address and take it slow or would I be wasting my time?

Yes you can open new account but make sure dont list item quick and dont sell brand stuff. give minimum 4 weeks before listing and start slowly. add bank account when you open ebay and make sure you add correct address.they will do soft credit check.

I'm sorry but IMO this is BS

Do you really think when 'Joe Soap' signs up to Ebay he waits 4 weeks? No, he opens his account, lists his used widget, waits for the auction to end and takes his money

The difference is 'Joe Soap' isn't tryng to game the system, isn't someone that doesn't exist anywhere else and isn't paranoid

ATM the only way to open accounts (in the UK) is with real docs, some history and a High Street bank

Other than that you are getting looked at and likely taken down

I'm unsure of my next step. I've heard of people having banned accounts reinstated after speaking to (preferably) Irish ebay reps.
Either way I'm not looking to sell high risk items. I'm more interested in unbranded items and parts for a Landrover I have for dismantling.

I think ill request a call from them. Usually the caller ID will tell me where the call is coming from so I'll keep trying until I get a Irish rep. I'm from Northern Ireland myself (UK) so I can speak their lingo 😂

A quick update in case it may benefit others, so i attempted to create a ebay account for personal use after my personal account was suspended 10 years ago.

So far its been a success, used the same name and address, added a new bank card and the Ip is also new since i switched to a different provided over the years, i ordered an item to see if all goes well so far the transaction went through.

Opened the account 3 weeks ago built up some cookies just to be safe, and added the bank card on the third week after the account was created and brought an item the following day.

Atm i cannot say if it will pass ID check since i have not reached that stage.

Hi, yes sold a few personal items posted the items and received the money from ebay.

Thanks PlanB, this is good info. I´m also in a very similar situation, real account suspended years ago because of Paypal and wondering if I can get back with my real details now. I was wondering if your account is still going good and also, were you asked to get ID verified at some point?
