PayPal Vs eBay MP Payments

For anyone who’s using eBay managed payments how would you compare the payments to PayPal

Are there holds, what is the max sale volume?

Back in PayPal stealth the rule was £500 first month

£1000 second month

& then just be careful when money goes in (don’t have too much of a big sale)

How’s it like for eBay Managed payments

I remember someone saying here that after the first payment you’re chilling, do whatever you want.

Any comments

Thank you

MP's are releasing money the next day so I can sell at 10pm Tuesday and have the money 1PM Wednesday. Not sure about new accounts but I used to always stay below 2.5k per month with paypal accounts have been upto 4.5k with ebay. Strangely it been the account this had lower sales that MP have decided to block.

Overall paypal was better. You knew where you stood and they didn't contradict themselves. MP is a massive joke imo

Hmm that's kind of an overall general statement that doesn't sit well

They can hold the money but I havent had them hold it for as long as PP used to

Its overall pretty smooth

Jut annoying having to always cash out to a bank account and not being able to just spend it from the PP balance directly

Thanks everyone for great replies

How would refunds work?. Is it taken from the available balance?

From my knowledge you can pay postage from the available balance, what’s the opinion on this.

And aha Yh it was quite a general statement

I’ve currently just got a “foot in the door” for MP, and just wanna be careful navigating

Thank you all again!

With refunds it would first be from available balance. If not enough or zero balance, they will debit your bank account (used for payouts) using direct debit. If no direct debit is setup, you would need to add a credit/debit card as another payment method.

Thank you :)

Lastly, how would the 500 / 1000 rule apply as was in PayPal, I want to take it slowly build up sales, wait for holds to be released etc but at the same time seasonally my business picks up for Christmas - like £2000/3000 sale per day

How would I navigate this with a new MP account?

I was thinking hit a couple hundred slowly, then reach the £1000 total sale mark. Then just take it one day at a time, If funds get held then just stop selling until the hold is released.

Probably won’t keep more than £500 on hold at one time, in that instance stop active listings until the funds are available.

Thank you all again

If I use a debit card what does eBay see about the card?
