Action required: update your bank information
 

Hi Folks.

I hope someone can help. I’ve been using eBay with all real details for just under two years. Wise was added for payouts and worked fine. Now I have received email that they couldn’t verify the bank details. When I follow the link it ask me to either log into my bank, send micro deposits or upload a statement. I wonder if it is safe to choose micro deposits or I am better to add a different bank account from high street? As I’ve seen that online banks are not too good and could lead to a permanent ban? I'd play safe and add a high street bank account. Savings is fine if you do not want the dd reversed.
If everything is in your name, you can use a current account an allow them pull the micro deposit.

I'm just wondering does the Wise account is attached at the moment is business or personal?
And the same for your eBay account?

They are both personal accounts.

Thanks. I’ll go ahead and add a freshly created Barclays current acc.. which method would be better, log in via trusty or micro deposits?

In my personal opinion I think it makes the account stronger if verified through trustly due to the information shared. I don’t know whether trustly is used in other countries but it’s definitely used here in the UK

I see... hmm... I'm rather paranoid logging in like that so I always used micro deposits since ancient times.

Fun fact, I got 2 accounts running the same 100% real details both with Wise accounts, one of them holding funds and releasing them in a 30 day span, the other one working fine.

100% real details isn't the problem, its when there's mismatched names that issues arise.

I've a legitimate account using Wise, ebay seller matches Wise business account detail. Of course there should be no issues.

But this forum revolves around stealth. Would I use mismatched names and a personal Wise account. Not a chance, Wise will eventually freeze your account and the funds in it.

The expanding fintech market is keen to gain recognition from the regulatory bodies and receive the same status and standing as the longstanding clearing banks. Primarily they want to be granted FSCS approval in the UK so customers can use their services with a high level of confidence. They are keen to be seen as whiter than white and will take action on accounts where they think something is untoward. I get it, you can't really blame them as they look to grab a slice of the multi-billion dollar marketplace.

Yeah mismatched names is a big problem that I knew nothing about, someone I know got in trouble with police for using a high street bank with mismatched names coming in. The bank reported him

That goes without saying.

But given this thread is discussing adding a bank account which will avoid scrutiny it is of no value whatsoever. You could have a very healthy well-aged account but if Adyen/ebay or your bank suspect something isn't right then they'll investigate.

If either detect mismatched names, businesses using personal accounts or god-forbid both (common practice on here I'll wager) then be ready to answer some awkward questions.

I was clarifying that a strong account is meaningless in the context of this thread.

Does wise start working on ebay??? Last year they stop using wise and limiting accounts with wise
