UK MP - Funds on hold, ID requested
 

Account is registered not with my details but my bank. Sold approx £800 then have £120 on hold until i submit id within month deadline. Should i just hold off and try and get the payout after 60 days. Would creative docs work?

Sometimes. Not always

Other option is to add your own name and DOB to the ebay then use your own passport to verify

Would that be for passports only as uk DL cannot be 1:1 copied due to checksum digits at the end - Not that ebay would check i assume.

Biggest issue with the DL is the address may not match either

just send in your real ID and change details to yours , if you upload a bogus one the risk of suspension is close to 100%

Upload real one but I would just burn this acc and created new one and focused on not making mistakes and triggers

I would try creative docs because if they fail you will still get paid in 60 days to your bank account, if they pass you can still continue selling and getting paid.

Incorrect. Maybe once but not now.

But swapping to real details is still always the best method.

I’m in a similar situation with an ID request. I have used my middle name as my surname

Slightly complicated by the fact the bank I’m using isn’t registered at the address on the eBay account.

Probably heading for suspension, but taking the advice above. Do I change my details on eBay, then submit my passport or just go ahead and confirm my legal name and upload my passport ?

I’m assuming that if I attempt to just submit the passport they’ll see the name discrepancy.

First name and surname needs to be exact match

DOB needs to also match

The address isn't an issue as they don't have address ok the passport

Thanks James, I’m not sure if PMs are being sent, newbie so not sure how the forum works !

The link on eBay takes me to a ‘Update your identity information’ page. I can enter the correct details here and just leave the incorrect ones as they are on the account ? (I.e what I submit will update the account ?).

The debate in my head is, if I just let this account burn out then they won’t have my passport and it’s a small loss. If I submit my passport, they will probably link, I’ll be banned and they’ll then have both my DL and passport stored.

Careful with using the real document submission - as you said, they will keep it on file...

Is ebay linking accounts based on name and DOB ? Couldn’t you make a new account with a different addres and ip and phone number and bank and appear unlinked.

100% correct - going creative with id is risky, adyen checks nowadays and suspension is almost certain.

For me, name and DOB being the same in spite of everything being different feels too easy of a link - therefore, going stealth is better for eb

Has anyone confirmed if you can use a mismatched DOB, when uploading drivers license or passport?

But they have photo and these days with AI,they can compare the photos

If James says DOB has to match, then DOB has to match. I know you have made thousands of accounts to prove this.

Is the address not an issue when you upload drivers license? And can they match accs with just name and dob, is that enough for mc099, it seems like that’s the case, in Canada.
