Default Holding payment

Hi people

I've been looking through some threads about holds on eBay payments but not finding any good info so far so I created an account.

I'm shipping stuff from Asia, but they are hitting me with 2 month holds!. At least with Paypal they held for a max of 21 days.

Of course cash flow is important so I was wondering if there's some tricks to reducing these holds to a month which would be workable/

Is it worth playing around with the shipping methods, and instead of using economy shipping, maybe try a quicker method but longer dispatch time, or are they wise to that?.

Bring back Paypal !

I have never heard of 2 months hold, what do you sell and from which Asian country?

Sites like Ebay, amzn, etsy are sneaky,I read somewhere they subscribe to a service which has more information on us ,how is your credit score?
after a month or so selling with no disputes, you could ask Ebay to reduce the hold time.

slow boat from China,so 2 months hold.

just curious,I wonder if any one else has this 2 months hold,go to Ebay seller forum and ask

You don't have the money to buy even a small inventory>?
Pretty much 90% Ebay listings showing stock photos, they are retail arbitragers,
they dont own inventory as they have hundreds even thousands of listings, they cant afford to stock all of them.
It is bad for Ebay, when I see something is coming from AMZN or Target or WALMART,I will go there to look up prices, they will always be less.

May be this is a sneaky way of getting rid of retail arbitragers, how many retailers like the idea of having their fund held up for 2 months?
If they are from China,I bet you can go to your local wholesalers and buy from them, that will improve your shipping time.

It depends where the buyer returns the item to.
If INAD,seller pays shipping and seller would just refund instead of giving buyer a return label. It is not possible to print a return label to China from Ebay UK or Ebay USA.

reply to Meester,as she said she shipped from Asia

then why dont you ask Ebay why your hold is 2 months, even from ASIA it does not take 2 months

Have you ever applied for a merchant account to accept card payments?

building up reputation with local sales would allow to get short withdrawal times

Maybe ask under a different username.

Meester, seems like you're getting hit with 2 month hold because eb is aware of your long shipping vs your clientele.

Actually

I had accounts before where I was also shipping from Asia with slow shipping and not getting 2 month holds, so I think it's the account itself that they probably don't like. My last completed sale in the UK ended up being a return, that might have something to do with it.

Sounds like the account is being internally flagged, I'd tread lightly for a while

feels like a waste of time and effort - likely no straight answer will come given the csr status these days
