Hello forum, not been on here for a while. I have a query i hope someone can help with. I Submitted my drivers license to my real ebay account 10 years ago and got banned. Can i re-use it for managed payments when i get a id request? or has anyone found another way around it that works? Thanks in advance.

Welcome back.

10 years ago? I definitely think it's a good idea to retry.
I'd be surprised if they still said "Oh we found you again".

Perhaps even use a slightly modified name? That's like a misspelling?

IE: Your name is Jeff Smith. , you type in Jeffry Scmith or so.

I think they keep the data for 10 years, but are allowed to to keep it indefinitely to prevent fraudulent activity. Might be better to use a passport this time.

Nice idea to use a different form of ID like passport.

Thanks for the welcome SaiJin and thanks for all the replies. I also think a different ID is a good move. Need to start catching up on the forum again. What about a government issued ID, will this work for ebay if anyone has tried already!

A different government issued ID but in the same details as 10 years ago? Worth a shot

Hi rsot.

The reason why i asked was because, when i supplied my drivers license 10 years ago and got banned, i have been using the ebay account ever since for purchases until recently, so not sure whether they will still remember me. If i got a different form of ID for managed payments, it may go through. I have been advised to abandon the managed payments account once i reach £1000 or 30 item a year and create another account. Just trying to get as much info before i waste ID's.

MP in the UK started in 2019/2020 , all people that were suspended before MP were pardoned by royal decree so that they may return and sell again to help fill their majesty's pockets

it was an order issued by his majesty pardoning all suspended sellers and allowing them to return home to sell on MP

Nice info, murdered__by__ebay. I wasn't aware of this either. So just to clarify, i can make a brand new ebay account in the UK and sell as normal. When the ID request is asked for, i can send, say, a passport or other official Id as normal with other relevant documents?

As above.

I transformed a lot of stealths to my real details and all are operating fine on managed payments.

How far back did you do the transformation? Or was it recent

Right, the royal decree. Yes, very good, his majesty personally signed off on everyone's return, I'm sure there's a plaque somewhere.
Joking aside, eBay didn't stop linking accounts when MP came in. Verification flow changed, MIRA didn't. Still running in the background doing what it's always done.
defwax7 — heads up before you commit a fresh passport to this, "operating fine" right now doesn't really mean much on its own. Linkage tends to surface later rather than at signup, sometimes months in once payouts or volume start moving. 10 years is a long time but old bans don't expire from their side, they just sit there.
Your call obviously, just saying the pardon framing isn't the thing to be reassured by.
