| | | AndreasP | 11-18-2016 06:56 AM | How can I get my money out of PayPal Hi, over a year ago a stealth PayPal account of mine was limited and £300 was left in the account, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle at the time and cut my losses. After a year I've thought I may-aswell try to get the money out of the account, the funds should be available however they are screwing me over.
I apparently need to supply ID in order to get back into the account, I have supplied the ID used to lift the limits yet they have rejected it several times and are refusing me access. I have also tried calling but I get the same old response from them, their cs reps are so nice yet the outcome of everything is so evil. Is there anything else I can do to try and access these funds? I'm stuck for ideas currently... |
| GreenBean | 11-18-2016 06:58 AM | Re: How can I get my money out of PayPal Go back over old emails and make sure Paypal told you there would be a release of funds.
A practice has started with the UK plonkers that funds are not being released.
Let us know this please. |

| GreenBean | 11-18-2016 07:27 AM | Re: How can I get my money out of PayPal Oh, very positive then. (Some sellers have had their funds retained forever.)
Try calling early and asking for a supervisor. Ask them outright what they want out of the paperwork you have available.... be firm but try to get your point across.
Good Luck.
:peace: |
| AndreasP | 11-18-2016 09:41 AM | Re: How can I get my money out of PayPal Nothing :( Yet again I've been fobbed off by them, this time the conversation had a rather awkward ending, the supervisor apologising to me and saying that there isn't much more that can be done.
Can they really do this to me? They've locked me out of my account despite being sent an email saying that the 180 days have passed and I can withdraw all funds...Are there any further steps I could possibly take?
Thank you for all the help so far and I would greatly appreciate any further help. |

I need you to sit down and take a deep breath after you read this.
Just on 2 years ago, PayPal UK changed its basic methods of handling limitations. Many many users found that their monies held under limitation were RETAINED by PayPal. Their stock reply was this right was implied in the T&S users signed when they joined.
Apart from hacked off (could use stronger words but we are a family forum ), there are not that many options. Your choice would be what you want to do next.

Yes...That's the message | It is their BS reason for limiting you.
At the time, had you changed computers or logged in from a different place?

:typing: | Same IP but a different computer, I have since sold the previous one I used so that may be why. I have the options to verify my phone number or provide documents. None of their phone calls or texts come through so the only thing I have to do is to send in the documents...This is going to be a much more long winded process than I have anticipated however I will make sure I get a hold of these funds, I cannot allow PayPal to win so easily. |

| Good for you. No more phone calls. Time for writing to the big guns...
Was the account going OK before that limitation. Were there any issues and was the eBay account OK. Were your items "nice" and not foo-foos
(Soz, too tired for all those darn question marks).

:en: | The eBay account is still open, everything was great, I was selling cheap generic items from China just to test the waters making small margins on each item. I had a few scammers screw me over saying they hadn't received their items, they could get away with it as-well because stamps were the only economical way I could send my items off. As soon as sales started picking up I was struck with the request for proof of delivery and proof of invoices. They never accepted my invoices or proof of delivery and that was the end of that PayPal account :( |
| James Brown | 11-20-2016 04:56 AM | Re: How can I get my money out of PayPal Don't want to go into detail on here, but I am in same situation. They have £170 of mine and are still not releasing it after nearly 8 months. Had two emails saying it would be held for 180 days then they may ask for proof of id and address before it will be released. Docs sent early this month but couple of days ago they asked for them again. Clearly they have no intention of releasing money and must be holding millions £ of customers money from all over world.
What happens to money they refuse to release? It must be illegal for them to just keep it. |

| Aggro | 11-24-2016 04:12 PM | Re: How can I get my money out of PayPal LOL @ misconception
PP only hold funds permanently b/c foolish account holders let them
Not PP nor any entity on earth can unilaterally hold your money permanently - despite what the T & C's say.
Legally it's still your money.
They can't just unilaterally terminate said agreement - and yet still expect to hold you to it
Any unfairness of the terms must be challenged in a court of law eg county court.
It's the only thing Paypal respects (the law)
Of course, most a/c holders don't bother b/c have tiny sums or it's too complex for them or too much hassle. |
