Paypal Access Card

Hey :) Not much info on these on Paypal's official site. What are the requirements for a UK stealth account to be eligible for one? Thanks!

Re: Paypal Access Card

Applications are by invite only.

I've only ever been invited to apply for this on a real account. I have a feeling that you don't get asked unless they can electronically identify you with credit reference agencies. I may be wrong on this though but I have never seen an invite on any of my stealth accounts.

I too have one on my real account. Though sometimes it doesn't work, despite a sufficient balance. I may have to call in for a replacement.

Stealth accounts - Yes they do invite you, but rarely. Pointless since can't pass the application which I presume requires electronic verification.

I have had invitation on stealth accounts, but the last time it happened was about 2 years ago.

I have never tried to get one on a stealth account though, I just assume it wont be possible

Like a real PayPal account, sometimes it won't work when attempting to use it if the transaction is marked as high-risk. They're not worth the hassle, since they use the same principles as PayPal's online system.

Although I can't see what's 'High-Risk' about buying a loaf a bread in a shop but yes... that's PayPal for you.

Re: Paypal Access Card

From my understanding - its not PayPal that deal with the transaction. Its the card issuer, who simply (at time of purchase) take funds from PayPal balance > Load Card > Make payment to shop.

In fact, there is a complete separate website/interface for PayPal access cards.

The reason why payments sometimes fail, I would just put it down to a technical glitch. It doesn't actually happen that often.

Yes but I assumed it was sort of similar to it as before my account was closed in January, I would have at-least one or two issues with it almost weekly, luckily I always kept my real card spare. They claimed it is to protect the card holder from potential fraud and unauthorized transactions, despite the cardholder being present with the physical card - but in other words they want more interest on our balance is probably more the case.

Even if invited to apply for the card on a good working stealth account, it could prove risky inviting paypal to scrutinise your account information for the application. Not worth running risk in my opinion.

****PAYPAL LINK****

Scroll down and you can click apply, if you are eligable. I managed to get one on a stealth but cant recall ever having got an invitation. Works just fine.

Annoyingly they dont state what the requirements are but we can assume all the obvious, account in good standing etc etc...
