Adding Halifax Everyday Saver to Paypal
 

Hi, is there a problem with adding an halifax everyday saver as your bank to Paypal,
i made about 6 everyday savers over the last few months and Paypal will not accept any of them..
it only happens with halifax saver accounts... other banks saver accounts i have tried are being accepted.. its just halifax thats a problem.

Did you try adding bank using the paypal automated phone system? That worked for me when trying to add a Santander bank that wasn't being accepted when trying to enter bank details via my paypal account.

Never used Halifax myself so cannot say if it will work. But worth a try.

i think i did try to add one of the halifax savers by phone but was still getting problems adding it,
very strange that its only halifax everyday saver accounts that wont add.. ive tried around 6 now each made over a few months and not one has been allowed to be added by paypal...
im wondering if paypal wont allow them after identifying them by sort code...
i have no trouble with any other saver accounts i have added from other banks

You may need to call in and get it added.

Saver accounts tend to recycle account numbers on a yearly (or so) basis. So it's likely someone else has it added on to their account, so the PayPal adviser needs to manually remove and re-add it to yours.

This is a quick 5 minute process.

i tried to do that with one at one time and they wanted me to send them in a bank statement with the account number on before doing anything.. halifax everyday saver accounts must have a hell of a lot of recycled account numbers that have used paypal... whats the odds on every account i made in last 6 months all having problems being added to paypal

I believe a bank account only works for withdrawals with PP if it has the ability to set up direct debits - which Halifax Savers don't

Not correct. You don't need to set up any DD mandates for it to work for the purpose of PP withdrawals.

Halifax works just fine. the everyday saver accounts are good to go. i have 4 going atm

That's very odd, never had that with Halifax before, then again I haven't tried adding one for a while. The only other explanation, though unlikely, is that the PP's were made in the same flawed way and it wasn't related to Halifax

pp,s were made ok.. i managed to add savers from other banks to them after it wouldnt accept halifax everyday savers accounts.. weird... i thought 1 halifax saver account getting rejected was just one of those things.. but then another one..
so i waited a couple months and made another ..same.. got rejected..
altogether have had 6 halifax savers rejected from 2 different halifax bank accounts.. like i said its only halifax.. all other savers from other banks i tried are ok
