Account limited due to selling activity
 

OK, so got my PayPal account limited due to selling a high value phone which falls outside the regular selling patterns of the account.

It's a ghost account that I lifted the limits on around 6/7 months ago, but the passport expired a month ago! Called PayPal to explain this and ask why, they said they need the ID again despite already having it to prove I say who I say I am. They said they would not accept the expired passport, despite it being the same one I submitted so technically does prove I am who I say I am??

Am I fighting a loosing battle? Am I best just waiting for the 180 days to run up and withdraw the £700 then?

Why don't you just get a new ID created and submit that? It's well known that there are service providers for such a thing....

Surely they will notice I’ve used the exact same picture on Id that’s 10 years apart from each other lol

Would you not be able to give an updated photo to said service provider?

If the original doc was created using a bogus picture he will need to find the same person's picture only 10 years older. Not so easy to do.
On the other hand certain countries will allow you to renew your passport using the same picture without providing a new one.
At this point id say you dont really have anything to lose. Either provide them with it and if it fails wait the 180 - or just wait the 180 days.

The ID used was not doctored, but I’m unable to get an up to date version of the document.

Only option I have is to send the passport to someone and they can take the photo and use it on a driving licence?
