Paypal Claim They Will GIVE MY Account Back...
 

Ever had this?

I've had my main pp locked down. I run a legit business, not ebay etc, and decided a year ago to open an account in my own name again, as hadn't had one for about 10 years in my own name...

Anyway, cut a long story short, after a big influx of money pouring in over the past 6 months, they decided to lock it down.

Asked for the usual docs etc and tracking (which isnt relevant) and eventually sent me an email saying I have a negative balance on several other accounts that I need to clear.

Phoned them up, and the woman said they accounts are from 2005 and If I cleared them I would get access back to my main account, this newer one.

Should I believe them? or is she trying to just get me to clear them, then I'll be told the other department will make a final decision.

Keen to get my main account back, as I run a super legit biz now, and its pretty helpful being in my own name.

were all those other accounts in the same name/details?
or all different?

There was 2 other accounts, I believe they were both in the same name as the new account i have, which ive had for a couple of years now , solid.

If they have a negative balance you owe, then the right thing to do would be to neutralise the balance. If you then get this account back, it would be a bonus.

To make sure things work out smooth, i'd ask the person on the phone to email you in writing to confirm what they've said, as when you do pay, there's no guarantee they'll do anything in your favour. There's also very little chance they'll give you anything in writing. But at least you can try.

if you think paypal will treat you fairly i think you are in for a surprise.

My guess is that you would clear the negative balances and then they would keep your current account limited.

its a no win situation for you
