Default Additional Information Limitation

Hey i received this email just now:

We emailed you on asking for additional information about your account. Since we haven’t received a response from you, what you can do with your account has been limited further.

Your PayPal account has been limited because we've noticed significant changes in your account activity. As your payment processor, we need to understand these changes better.

What does this mean?

This account limitation will affect your ability to:

send money
withdraw money
Addtionally, you cannot:

remove any bank accounts
remove credit cards
close your account
What to do next

Please log in to your PayPal account and visit the Resolution Centre before 25 June 2018 to provide the requested information. If we don't receive this information before 25 June 2018 or we notice additional significant changes in your account activity, your account may be further limited.


However, i didn't receive any email asking for information previously. Would i be able to contact support and argue this point to get myself unlimited. --Also, how can i stop this from happening again?

No, this is just a mistake from the trust/safety department with sending you the wrong canned message but the deed is done.

You can argue all you want but it won't change anything.

What you have come across is pretty common where they say that they emailed you for information and because they didn't hear back have limited your account. A lot of the time they haven't emailed requesting information they have just jumped straight to limited you

While that is annoying your not going to be able to just argue your way out of it. You need to provide whatever they are asking for

I get this limitation EVERY time I open a new account but just send what they ask for and it gets restored within 2 days max

Some new PayPal accounts used on eBay are limited after a few sales, due to "changes" in account activity.

These are normally triggered by high-risk items, such as digital goods or an instant slew of incoming funds or a combination of the two.

In this kind of limitation, they would ask for a Photo ID; a Proof of Address; a Proof of Inventory / Invoice and a Proof of Postage.

Just provide them all the information that they need. Also, moving forward it would be best if next time you create a new account better provide all the information and complete all the steps.
