| | | | | craigloganbt | 07-24-2018 06:04 AM | Would you still ship if paypal had limited Ok so i opened a fresh account. Few purchases over the month. Listed an item. Item sold. Instant limitation. Sent in ID and proof of purchase. Told them im not a business. Called up and the guy said all looks good. We need the tracking. Told him i'm not comfortable posting while under the duress of this limitation after all the google horror stories. He said i need to ship it before they consider the limitation. Told him i can't afford to loose £200 and i'm happy to just refund. So he did it and told me. "if your not willing to ship it then don't use paypal" Typical crappy customer service from paypal and told me the back office would review. Honestly can't wait for ebay to give them arrogant pr***s in Ireland the boot. I hope they all end up on the dole
This was yesterday. Today they emailed, appeal denied.
In your experience would posting it made any difference to the outcome?
This was actually the quickest review i've ever seen from paypal. I still have accounts from 10 months ago with 100-400 in |

| Beautiful | 07-24-2018 06:16 AM | Re: Would you still ship if paypal had limited Sounds like the first sale was probably high risk and flagged the account
Its possible they didn't like the information you submitted
Its also possible that they decided to deny the appeal because you seemed high risk based on not wanting to provide immediate tracking
I would just move onto another one and start slower, maybe lower risk goods to start with |
| muzzie | 07-24-2018 06:55 AM | Re: Would you still ship if paypal had limited They limited you permanently in the end because your first big deal ended up in a refund. They don't the care refund was because of their retarded policies. They actually don't care at all. They want YOU to take all RISKS, as the only thing they care about is MONEY. A nice hint for you in such a situation:
1) tell buyer there's a shipping delay caused by PayPal checking the transaction and not allowing to send the item
2) tell buyer that to make him happy, you are sending him a gift, as an excuse for the delayed shipping
3) add tracking from that gift to the case
4) check tracking every day and once it is delivered - call paypal and ask to review you again
5) in 24h they will either unlimit your account or limit you forever
6) if all good, send the item with the fast courier service as well
7) done |

| dallis | 07-24-2018 03:30 PM | Re: Would you still ship if paypal had limited So, you sold an item, got limited, were in line to be reinstated, then refused to ship because of "PP's retarded policies"?
I think you need to re-assess the blame here. |

I think you need to re-assess the blame here. | Really?? I think we all know what the outcome would have been even if he had shipped item 'YOUR PAYPAL APPEAL DENIED'. Then they would have held his money indefinitely with the usual guff about providing valid id before they release it.
Just because some minion on the phone tells you 'all looks good' remember the back office makes the final decision on account limitations so, in all probability once they had checked id the account would have been permanently limited anyway. In my opinion he did right thing in this case - refund the item and move on without all the headaches and stress of wondering if he would ever see the £200 again. |

Once attention has been drawn to an account by a manual review the account is toast in most cases. Cut losses and move on. They love to reinstate accounts then permanently limit again once you have a healthy balance locked in there... |

The account would have been permanently limited once you provided tracking with the usual BS email we don’t feel safe doing business with you. Personally I never let them sit on any funds after 180 days limitations email - just refund all customers! Spreading sales is only way to beat them... |
| muzzie | 07-27-2018 11:10 AM | Re: Would you still ship if paypal had limited Had same problem recently. Shipped item, next day - boom, APPEAL DENIED, when ALL docs were accepted except the lacking tracking info. So from now on I am going to ship some crap just to test the water, and send tracking for the main item in ebay message. PayPal wants to hold as much funds as possible, so they will not limit you when there is low balance, they will make sure to trick you into putting funds into the account and making sure you can't reverse it (item sent), and then cut your head off. |
| Jamsym | 07-27-2018 06:14 PM | Re: Would you still ship if paypal had limited Paypal like to hold money for 180 days.
Don't feel any loyalty to them. Just remember that they will limit you and steal your money at any chance they have. If you feel uncomfortable shipping a £200 item while limited then absolutely do not do it. |
