Money held for 180 days, issued refunds -- blanace remains the same

I have an account with £700 in for 2 months, on the 180 day hold, i kind on forgot about it but just got an email saying i the will let me withdraw £20 wew hew. Anyway the £20 is now in the available balance. money on hold is now £680

I made 2 sales shortly before the limitation so rather than send i tried to refund, paypal didn't allow it so the customers eventually opened cases and got refunds that way. so the balance held should of went down to 2-300 .. but it never .. is there a chance paypal are going to give me a free 4-500 after the 180 days?

Wishful thinking!!

Re: Money held for 180 days, issued refunds -- blanace remains the same

In some cases, which I cannot pinpoint, PayPal will refund a buyer out of their own pocket, with no penalty to either party. They usually do this when there is no sufficient evidence that the buyer was in the wrong or the seller. I have only seen this personally less than a handful of times over the years and is highly unlikely to be the case.

If you check the email associated with that account, you should see email(s) from PayPal about these dispute outcomes and what action they have taken. If the email states that they have refunded the buyer without charging you anything, then you are a winner, but if it states that they have taken the buyer's side and charged it off your account, then it must have been deducted on conclusion.

If the system is letting you withdraw that £20 and your balance is not in a negative state, then something has gone right for you. As long as the account is not registered in your name and address, then any negative balance will be charged-off as collections efforts cannot be taken against a falsified contact.

If it is in your name and address, then seek clarification before withdrawing anything. You are limited anyway, so calling PayPal will not put you at any disadvantage, as it is better to make sure you are not going to be offset for those refunds down the line.
