Adding my credit card to wife’s paypal
 

My wife has a fully functioning, legitimate PayPal account.

I want to add my credit card to her account.
Same surname, same address.
I’ve never been banned from paypal (only ebay)

Is this possible?

brand new card
And I haven't got a banned paypal. just an old paypal linked to a banned ebay account. Not used in about 3 years.

Card is brand new but in my name.

Paypal cannot see the name on the card - only what info you provide them.

So if the cc is brand new, you could put in under her name in pp

I thought card shared the cardholder details.
Isnt that why people use VCCs?

PayPal won't see name. If you're still worried though, simply call your credit card company and add her name as an authorized user. Account and cc number stays the same, but she will get a card with her name on it. Since it's still your account, no credit check is performed on her, it that's a problem.

Just put your wife's name + your real address. I can confirm with everyone else that name isn't checked.

Just ran my own card last week on a site with a completely made up first + last name and my real address.

Account numbers on additional cardmember's cards can/do have a different account number. A credit report IS pulled on additional card member applications, they are also reported to the credit bureau.
