Closing one savers account & opening another
 

Hi all, quick question - I've lost a couple of ebay accounts over the weekend. Previously when this has happened I fully expect the paypal to go down too, but they don't and I still use one of the old stealth paypal accounts to do off ebay transactions. The rest I just close once I have paid my fees.
So I wanted to ask you all, how do banks feel about customers closing savers accounts and then immediately opening up a new one? I'm using halifax

If your paypals still work it's happy days ...

Just open another ebay account following all the pre-cautionary steps to not flag a bot.

As long as you do not do too many at a time you should be fine.
Just look at if from their perspective and ask yourself at what point would you become worried if a customer did that. Then stay below that threshold.

You can also spread out to other banks. I personally will not go more than two accounts per bank and I never do current accounts for stealth.

So would you say I can re-use a fully functioning paypal and attach to a new eb account? Should I also add a new email address to the paypal?

If you dig around the forums you will find instructions from "slokor" I believe.

What I would do is create a fresh ebay / fresh paypal and try and establish them.

Don't attach a bank account to the paypal, just send the funds from it to your existing paypal accounts, get creative, make an invoice on your old paypal so you can pay yourself.

Age the ebay 90 days, get sales going. After 90 days attach your old paypal into the "payment email" box when you create listings.

And just sell that way ...

How long will it last ? nobody knows. As long as you keep customers happy dont get any returns, chargebacks etc. I think ebay and paypal will turn a blindeye for as long as possible.

It is definitely better than creating new paypals, bank accounts etc, and abandoning these accounts that you have at your disposal.
