Safe to link a friends Ebay Account to my Paypal Account?
 

Hi,

I have previously linked my own UK Ebay account and my sisters UK Ebay account to my UK Paypal account. Both accounts have now fallen into disrepair and are no longer viable for listing the product I want. Neither account has been suspended though.

My friend has given me permission to use his Ebay account which is in good health, although he would prefer I didn't use his Paypal account.

Is it safe for me to link his Ebay account to my Paypal account after perhaps changing the email address on his Ebay account?

Any advice most welcome.

friend prefers you dont use paypal, so you mean you need to add another verified paypal to it? Is it a pre 07 ebay that doesnt need to accept paypal?

I mean my friend will allow me to use his Ebay account but not his Paypal account (the 2 were previously linked) so yes I need to link another (different) Paypal account to his Ebay account.

I want to link my own Verified Paypal account to his Ebay account. Will this be ok or be flagged up and cause problems?

I'm not sure but I think his Ebay account is pre 07.

So what you want to know is can you link a third ebay account to a good paypal account? :spy: I'd be inclined to say No. Why? The names are different for starters. paypal prefers/likes/wants the info to match with ebay. You've managed x2. I'd not try for a third go. How are you going to access the accounts in any case? 'Cos if you are in Thailand & using a UK account, paypal will not like much :ranger:

I feel obliged to say friends and business do not mix. Recommend you reconsider this angle. :peace:

Thanks Greenbean I appreciate your advice and it does make sense. I have operated all the UK accounts mentioned from Thailand without problem but they are all old accounts (pre 07) with high feedbacks.

I agree adding a 3rd in a different name would be pushing it and probably not be worth the risk.

if the names on the account match you might get away with it if the names dont match you are asking for trouble eventually
