ppal now using electoral register?
 

i just read somewhere that ppal are now using freely available information in the public domain to verify their customers?

info such as the electoral register in the uk, which contains almost every single person's name, address etc on it.

in that case, how will stealth accounts fare then, if for example a user opens an account with stealth info, and then ppal does a search for it on the electoral register! sounds like the end of stealth, unless im missing something here...? :(

people can choose whether they are on the electoral register, that is publically viewable, so for any address, there may be just one name showing up, all the names at the address or none of them.

watch the info you put on company records and social networks too, as they can be looked up by anybody.

In terms on ebay/pp verifying an address or person, there are 2 sides to this coin, if you show up, then verifcations, especially the live phone ones go smoothly, if you dont show up then you may be asked for docs....but if you are using different name or address for stealth that may be an option for you.

Ive seen posters here, using real details that you can find on someone online, and using them, even though they are not their own, this is not a good idea, for so many reasons....

the u.k info disc's are a reasonable source of information, if your going that route
