Fast transfer to bank option - I cant find it?!

Hey Folks!

I am wanting to transfer some money from Paypal into my paypal registered bank account. I have done this a few times before with no problem, however I am wanting to do the faster transfer procedure - you know the supposedly faster option that they charge you £5 for? Well its a bit odd but when I click on the 'transfer to bank account' button, the page it takes me to doesnt give me the option to do this 'faster' transfer - why is this? Do they no longer offer this option? This is quite bad news for me because using the normal option I find that it takes over 7 days for the money to appear in my account, and I was wanting to get some money for this weekend... Any ideas anyone?

thanks!

Johnny

Ive just made a withdrawal and the option was there still so no they havnt got rid of the faster option.

However i've found with my banks that it doesnt make the money hit my account any quicker at all so dont bother with it.

What bank are you with that it takes that long to process?

Is this something only for UK? I have never heard of this.

Im not sure if you guys in the US have it, never used a US PayPal?

Its a service that paypal offer than supposedly allows you to get your money into your bank account quicker for the fee of £5, however ive never noticed it being any quicker :peace:

It is £5 for 2-3 days or FREE for 3-4 days :suspicious:

It is still an available feature. Seen it the other day. :D

Imakemoney 05-03-2011 06:28 PM

Not that it guarentee's 2-3 days for paying £5 though :suspicious:

ShadyOne 05-03-2011 06:31 PM

^^ Yeah, I was going to mention that.

It's a waste of our precious five pound sterling really :D

@OP if it is taking 7 days for the money to appear in your bank account after withdrawing, then this is probably down to you bank, if it happens all the time. What bank are you with?

Imakemoney 05-03-2011 06:37 PM

Agreed total waste. Dont give them extra money.

Hi

What is strange is the facilty to do this 'faster' transfer used to be there a couple of months ago, but now when I click on the 'transfer to bank account' button there is only the regular option. And while they say that it should only take 3-4 working days I have found this not to be the case. I have quite regularly transferred money on a Tuesday morning, and by their judgement it ought to be in my account by Friday at the latest. Yet I find out that the money doesnt reach my account until the following Tuesday! - Thats 5+ working days - 7 if you include the weekend! WTF?!?! Whats more I am not trying to transfer the money into a savings account or anything. The account I am using is a Bank of Scotland current account. Has anyone got any ideas why I'm not been offered the 'faster transfer' option? I know some of you are saying this isnt faster and not worth paying the £5 for, but I used to find that I did get my money faster, and it was worth £5 to have my money before the weekend, rather than after a weekend spent with no money at all! What do you think?

thanks!

Johnny

^^^ Have a look when it says 'completed' in PayPal, that is how you should judge PayPal's speed of withdrawing. From when it says 'completed' to the money showing in your account is down to your bank.

Lol by the way, are you not wasting time, debating on where the fast transfer link has gone? :D

haha i like the emotions funny! :suspicious: :suspicious:

shady much agreed,,, we simply can not waste our "hard earned" money haaa

Adapt or die :typing:

Imakemoney 05-05-2011 06:38 PM

johnny, if you still cant see the fast transfer link why dont you try dropping paypal an email. thats if you must use it even though I find its never faster...

Stigger 05-08-2011 02:58 PM

i think its down to how legit the details are on the account.

I have an account with legit details (pre 2007) at the moment and it take 1 day if i use the fast option, on my stealth accounts some go with in the normal time period and on others can take upto 7 days (lloyds) WOW.

i have also noticed if you click the option to "withdraw" the fast option is always there but if you choose one of the withdraw sub tabs its not.

ShadyOne 05-29-2011 08:38 PM

I have since learnt that if it takes any longer than the quoted 1-2 days to leave the account, you can contact PayPal and have your £5 refunded. Most of these delay for the funds to leave the PP account are actually due to PayPal reviewing the withdraw and the delays to the bank are simply their timeframes.

@johnnyleeds, I know it sounds obvious but are you actually clicking 'Withdraw' and not just hovering over. If you click it, is the option still not available?
