money in bank but paypal disagrees
 

Hi Guys

I opened a savings account, and tried verifying the account with paypal.

Paypal sent the 2 deposits and they showed up in my bank account as I hoped. So I logged into paypal ( to enter the deposited amounts) and the account had been removed. I checked my emails and paypal had sent email saying they removed account due to bank refusing to accept money.

The thing is that was last week and the money is still in my bank.

Anyone any ideas

i just think they dont deal with some savings accounts,it may be one of them,
as for them still sending the deposits and them actually going through,BAFFLED!

email them and ask what is going on,you should get some answers,tell them the money has gone through and your bank account can accept money!

if that fails add a debit card,they defo work

If I add a debit card will it act same as bank account? Yeah I might tell them it is not a savings account it is a current account and tell them the deposit amounts to prove they went through. maybe they wont know what type of bank account it is :)

yes you can add a debit card to act as a bank account!
just email them and ask whats going on,

how i add bank card. I saw threads for usa saying card number acts as sort code is it same here? I know my card doesnt have account number on it.

Dont be daft. If it is a savers, paypal can tell that by the 'numbers'.

Problem is that far too many savings accounts do not accept the direct Debit mandate.

It 'appears' just as you stated that everyting is fine. But paypal is not geared to deal with it. So they reject the transaction.

This is addressed many many times on the forum.

I noticed you asked about an account in another thread. read the answers there. That might help you,irish :yar:

I agree with what GB said above, best thing to do is add a bank account and have them send the deposits to that bank.

i have a current account,which is a bank account,
i have a debit card for this current account,
if i add the current acct/debit card info e.g sort code & account number to pp for the dd mandate this is adding a bank account so therefore oompa you can add a debit card to act as a bank account,no???????

Do you mean your debit card has your account number on it? or do you use the card number on front of card?

i have the sort code,acct number & the 12 digit code on the card

btw this card/account is not a current account

but i can use it as a debit card to pay for things online and i can set up direct debits with it,

some savers allow dd mandates,some dont,not sure what your card is but you should check with your bank to see if you can have direct debits attatched to it.

too slow adding the deposits, if you would have added thenm quicker that would have verified your PP account but sooner or later you may have needed another savers or current anyway.

no you cannot, you are adding the bank account and sort code number that is stamped on the card ,you are not adding the debit card at that time but the bank account the card is attached to.

That is why you can add the card later.

ok i admit i was wrong,if you have a 12 digit number on your card,you can use the account attatched to that debit card,not act as a bank account,you know what i meant

Yes you are right i did know that but any new member reading may not have and it could have caused confusion.

Hi there. I added an e-saver ac to a stealth pp ac. They sent the two deposits, I entered the amounts, ac became verified. Week later they removed the ac from pp but it is still verified. When I am ready to withdraw I will simply add another e-saver ac to pp and withdraw everything before pp decide to remove the ac - it's about timing I think.

thats the way to do it.

the second will not be removed. now just add and leave unconfirmed.

unless pp do something about it lol

Also i forgot to mention, at this point it can be any account in anyones name that has not been added before you can put there full name or just initals for first = j. doe or john doe

GTB, do you realise that if your credit/debit card has a sort code and account number on it, they are actually just the sort code and account number of your bank account.

So you are not adding a credit/debit card as a bank account...you are simply adding your bank account.

Hi guys thanks for the replies. I have received an email back from paypal saying the following:

Dear xxxxxx xxxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

I can see that you are concerned about confirming the bank account
ending xxxx.

I checked your account and can confirm that the bank account has been
disabled by the system on x May xxxx due to a notification we received
that your bank details on the file did not match the information with
your bank.

Please contact your bank to make sure of the correct bank details for
example the account type of your bank account if it is indeed a checking
account.

I have re-enabled your bank account and please be assured that you can
re-add and initiate again the confirmation process for it to be use as a
source of payment.

I hope that this information will address your concern.

I havent checked the account yet as need to log out and in again under different ID and IP but I thought id give you guys an update first :-)

^ Irish, if you want this account badly and want to stop all the messing about with PP, then open a basic current account at your bank and add that. Savers are very limited in their use with PP. They do not last long because of the lack of a direct debit feature.

thats not strickly ture ShadyOne bu you are right about this guy just getting a current account.


I would also advise people not to post real time about problems with eby or PP accounts on this forum either, that alone could open a can of worms for yourself if the rumors are true about PP or eby watching this forum.
