******* held what can I do???

I ain't sending this iPhone 4 for me to get mugged over on it. So what can I do? He said if buyer confirms delivery then funds will be released

See eBay and paypal there pissin me off.

Think I need to buy an account? These new accounts are not good at all.

Thankyou

GreenBean 09-13-2011 06:59 AM

And exactly what do you think a brought account will be like?

YOU need to work on an account, your own or brought, to stop ebay/paypal annoying you.

If you can not understand that, then dont use ebay/paypal.

SO from your scrambled title do I guess you have a 21day hold & you are moaning about the risk of whatever you are moaning about?

If it's a moan, say that. If it's advice, say that too. What do you want as a reply?:juggle:

toplevelseller 09-13-2011 07:24 AM

Advice please.. Sorry about the moan just I can't afford to loose £400.

Were do I go from here?

Thankyou

GreenBean 09-13-2011 07:46 AM

Kick the door. Round around the kitchen starkers if it's not too cold. Scream blue murder.
When the rush passes, sit down. Exhale..... I feel better already. How about you?

So the item is desptached & your sweating on the feedback to get the hold removed?

Consider sending a nice message thro' ebay to let the buyer know of despatch with all the tracking info. Say this is a follow up message to let you know how much I valued your purchase. (quick break to throw up) Hope you enjoy using the phone. Please advise me when the parcel arrives. I look forward to giving you ++ feedback. ( or words to that effect)

When you despatch, do you include any grovel notes? These are things to do to earn the buyer's happiness ( quick break again to throw up):juggle:

It up to you what you want to do, no one can really give you an answer to that.

I have a question though, what was you thinking of listing an item you can not afford to lose of such high value in a category most likely to lose it in with the 21 day hold applied ?

If you don't want to send it, you could try and cancel the transaction, contact the buyer with the biggest apology you have made in your life and say you dropped it on the kitchen floor as you was packing it, or something like that.

GTB 09-13-2011 08:41 AM

why on earth would you list an iphone 4 on a new account

list one anyway on ebay where scammers lurk at every corner

list one with the 21 days hold(not too bad)

how old is your account, please don`t say a month old:doh:

am seeing it as you have not sent the phone yet,so...you could say something like

the phone has been stolen by your brothers girlfriends cousins dad who is a crack head and he sold it to a drug dealer who runs your area and he kills people and your too scared to try get it back, sowwee

you dont have to send it if you don`t want but you run the risk of a seriously pi55ed buyer!

Selling in Mobile Phones category is very difficult to do because there are so many scams and because of this eBay and PayPal come down hard on sellers. I sell phones, and after 5 months and 5 star DSRs I still have 21 day holds. I only just got my limits removed. It's a hard life trying to sell phones, but it can be done.

My advice to you would be to send the phone and politely request feedback. Once they've left feedback you'll get access to your funds. Alternatively after 3 days have passed you can email PayPal with the tracking number details and they'll lift the hold.

toplevelseller 09-13-2011 09:33 AM

send buyer messages saying sorry for the mess. left him good feedback and asked for the same due to me issuing a refund within 5hours. think this should do the trick..

now to get my limits down???

Payment holds on your eBay transactions. we are working with eBay to make buying and selling even safer. As part of payment holds for new eBay sellers , we'll hold the money from your eBay transactions for up to 21 days. Find out how you may get your money sooner.

thats what paypal are giving me a message as..... new paypal maybe?????

just a suggestion haha

toplevelseller 09-13-2011 10:12 AM

i have had my selling allowance lifted

what would you reccomend to get 21day hold removed?

GTB 09-13-2011 10:48 AM

call paypal but i doubt they will lift anything

you need to prove yourself as a consistently reliable seller

but they do like to see a refund or two and quick dispute resolution, its the staller's and arguers and raised disputes they hate.

GreenBean 09-14-2011 04:12 AM

They HATE refunds. They prefer resolution without refunds.:juggle:

rsot 09-14-2011 05:30 AM

GB offers good tips - refunds show lack of quality.

This is very very true. I have had 3 customers in the last few weeks who wanted a refund. All were refunded within 10 minutes of me getting the request. It's what you have to do now - it hurts like hell but you have to do it

GTB 09-14-2011 12:36 PM

avoid problems at all costs

causing additional problems for a buyer who just wants money back is gonna get ya nowhere fast

better to lose a few quid & an item than a whole account

GreenBean 09-14-2011 06:46 PM

Just clarifying what I posted.

I prefer to refund without the buyer going to paypal to talk of disputes

Might have seemed confused.com for some

I wouldnt recommend buying an account, you dont know where its been! Also selling an Iphone 4 on a fairly new account is pretty risky, better to wait until you have built up a bit of feedback.

I am very nervous as I have been given an Iphone 4 to sell for someone, I currently have a selling allowance of under £400 per month so this one sale could wipe most of that out. Also I am a bit worried about getting scammed by someone who will claim the phone never arrived - even though I will be sending it by signed for special delivery, and then you get these jokers who buy something then claim it doesnt work - cos they have swapped it for their own non-working model of the same item they have bought from you, so not only do you have to refund them, but you end up getting returned someone elses piece of junk!

I dont know, there is so much 'buyer protection' on ebay / paypal that its virtually an invitation for people to scam sellers by claiming their item either never arrived, or was 'not as described' (broken)...

I have been thinking about writing something with an invisible UV pen on the inside of the items battery cover or something so that if I do get someone claiming the item is broken and then returns it to me I can tell if it has been swapped, not that this would prove anything to ebay or paypal cos in their eyes the buyer can do no wrong! I mean I've had it in the past where I had 400+ positive feedback yet paypal still believed the new buyer with zero feedback who was accusing me of defrauding them!! FFS!

GTB 09-15-2011 10:50 AM

iphone,al buy it!!!

how much does the the guy/girl want for it,remember forum buddies;)

you dont want to list it on ebay, you know why!

eBay King 09-15-2011 08:23 PM

It is very sad these days how eBay make it impossible for anyone to sell a valuable item through PP.

I know that the scammers have ruined the market place and that any genuine sellers will suffer because of it. Selling something expensive on eBay these days is only safer via COD.
