| spainman2011 | 09-20-2011 03:40 AM | Paypal issue Just to pick a few brains on the forum. I recently had my account limited but not a full limitation. Paypal asking for invoices, proof of ID on an account that is around 2 years old. They still allow me to send payment withdraw money etc as those functions have a big tick by them. They just give me around 2 weeks to supply the information.
Well I tried withdrawing money and it said completed. It has always taken 3 days maximum. This time the money is not in the bank account.
Do you think the money will not arrive or will take longer as its under review? Its just strange that they say no limitation to the account as they give me 2 weeks to fax them documents. The withdrawal did not say that it had been held or reversed. It said completed yet its not in the bank account after the usual 3 days.
Did this happen to anybody? Any tips or idea? :D |
| oompaloompa | 09-20-2011 03:55 AM | it can take up to 5 days to get money in the bank, if there is a tick you should be ok to withdraw, but you never know with paypal. |
| spainman2011 | 09-20-2011 04:33 AM | Yes it does have a tick allowing me to withdraw. Normally the money is in the account after the 3rd day by 9am.. this time no money, so lets see what happens on day 4.... |
| Stigger | 09-20-2011 06:54 AM | Is the payment showing complete in PP
I would say nothing to worry about unless you get an item not as discribed and they claw it back but like Ompappa said can take 5-6 days. |
| spainman2011 | 09-20-2011 05:04 PM | Yes its showing complete. But I withdraw other "larger amounts" just after I received payments on items. Now they are pending since 24hrs... the one that says complete didnt hit my bank account yet.... I wonder if they will be reversed by paypal or put on hold. Lets see! :)
I think they must individually screen any transactions and maybe a manager at paypal decides if it should go through or not... I wonder what weird system they use. |
| Stigger | 09-20-2011 06:54 PM | If it's showing complete in paypal then it's in the banks hands, sometimes at the bank it goes to manual review because of name miss match, however if the money has been paid into the account in the same name before it usually just gets passed but on a rare occasion it can get sent back. |

In the beginning of this year, I had a "completed" bank withdrawl from PP and the next day they managed to reverse it back to the account before it arrived at my bank account.
"Completed" does not mean 100% you will get the funds. BUT, if it stays completed for more than 2 or 3 days - it is looking good. :pop2: |
| oompaloompa | 09-21-2011 05:18 AM | correct completed is when the bank 'sees' what is about to come in but it is not yet available to you. Usually your available balance tells you what you have for sure. |

| eBay King | 09-21-2011 11:49 AM | YOU SAID:
"If it's showing complete in paypal then it's in the banks hands".
That is NOT CORRECT. END OF STORY.
If it is in the banks hands after saying "completed", then how do PP reverse the transfer. |

Easily, they can claw it back even when its showing in your bank account, they can get it back at any time during the trasaction.
When its showing completed it's on the banks side of the process. |
| ebayhater86 | 09-21-2011 02:30 PM | kindest paypal limitation ever imo |
| RomexTM | 09-23-2011 05:20 PM | Maybe it's the anti money laundering because when I get close to $1000 in Australian paypal the limit me but I still can do everything |
| spainman2011 | 09-24-2011 01:45 AM | Update - all the money arrived. So paypal have been true to their word this time. Even my account is limited I could still sell and withdraw money. After my deadline is up this will obviously change. |
| GrannyT | 09-24-2011 07:18 AM | I've just listened to an article on Radio 4s money programme concerning Paypal.
A woman sold a mattress for £250 on Ebay and the funds went to her Paypal account. She transferred the money to her bank and 6 weeks later Paypal tried to reverse the payment. While unsuccessful they put her Paypal account into negative.
She says 'I will never ever deal with Ebay or Paypal again'
Richard Ambrose, the Paypal spokesman, certainly didn't seem bothered.

| spainman2011 | 09-25-2011 06:19 AM | Thats a charge back. Best thing is to stop the direct debit instruction once paypal have banned you. |
