Why does it take 8 days to transfer money from Paypal to Bank?

Recently I withdraw my money from Paypal account to my bank account. I have noticed that it takes 8 days (including Weekend) for money to be transferred into my account. Why does it take that long when it states on Paypal page that it will take 2-3 working days? Last month when I withdrew my money, it took less than 4 working days each time. But since 2 weeks ago it seems to take 8 days on every withdrawals. What happen or is there anything wrong on my account?

I think its to do with the stealth accounts im not sure because it does happen to me is well. On paypal it says completed but when i check in my bank still nothing im with santander what bank are you with?

seanws30 12-20-2011 06:42 PM

must be a UK thing. takes about 2 days for me

NotAHappyBunny 12-21-2011 12:04 AM

in my experience it varies a little between banks - generally 4 working days, but some banks are quicker.

Paypal china states it take 3- 7 working days ,so 8 days including weekend is acceptable. As long as the money can be reached to your bank,i donot think your account have any problem.

If as I suspect your account is one that is on 72 hour withdrawl to complete, then there is 3 days already. Another 3 for the withdrawl plus 2 for the weekend, is your eight days!

It's nothing to do if it's a stealth account or not. I'm running 5 accounts at the minute, 3 are on 72 hour withdrawl timings. No idea why though!

start asking questions if it doesn't arrive in your bank account

does it always take this long?

which bank are you with?

whatnow 12-21-2011 09:10 AM

i think it depends on your bank, it takes 4 days for some of mine and 8 days for others, remember not to include weekends and if you request after 12pm that day wont count with some banks

rsot 12-21-2011 09:16 AM

All depends on business day policy - does not include weekends.

GTB 12-21-2011 02:06 PM

as long as it hits your bank there is no need to worry

some banks are fast..and some slow

i think average is 3-4 days

so 8 days is only an extra 2-3 days due to the weekend

would ne worry lad

I've moaned about this before, I know that different banks in the UK take different lengths of time to withdraw to. I use the Halifax / Bank of Scotland and the normal transfer from Paypal to my bank account takes a full week. However if I'm totally skint then I might pay the £5 'Fast Transfer' fee and I;ve found that if I transfer the money on Monday that after paying the £5 fee I have the money in my bank account in less than 24 hours - so its there on Tuesday morning. However I've done this on different days sometimes and its still taken nearly 7 full days - and they've still charged me £5 !!!! Cheeky buggers!!!

Hmm, yeah, sometimes I've been refunded it, other times I havent, but I dont really like to start making a fuss with Paypal as it might get them interested in me and my 'stealth' account, so best to keep mouth shut and grin and bear it I guess...

Callidus 01-06-2012 06:35 PM

Johnny you can make that £5 back instantly via a sale so no point as you say in kicking up a fuss :)

Im with Santander and mine are OK'ish at the moment not overly speedy

Would you do that if it was a legit account ?

johnnyleeds 01-07-2012 07:00 PM

Probably not, even legit accounts get screwed for no reason by ebay / paypal as we are all aware of, otherwise we wouldnt be using this forum if ebay was an honest / decent place to trade. Know what I mean?
