Paypal reversed my money!!

I withdrew £150 from my paypal, the transaction went through and the money was in my bank account then paypal reversed it back into my paypal then limited it for 45 days. no reason just limited it.

I never knew once the money was IN my bank they still can get thier hands on it! is their any way of getting your bank to stop them from doing this???

Any help please

Thanks.

im going to wait for others but i do believe that if you link and CONFIRM and bank account they can pretty much do whatever they want. this is why people dont confirm bank accounts

Search the forum. I don't think USA can do this, but I have read in the past that other members in other countries like UK were able to submit something to their banks that blocks anyone from withdrawing any money from your account.

I know this has been talked about before.

Paypal UK & US do & CAN reverse payments for ANY reason, it is part of their user agreement.

HOWEVER, did you do this transaction on EB which got subjected to this PP reversal i.e have an issue with a buyer over an EB transaction for instance ???:noidea:

There are a number of known circumstances under which PP can & will sometimes subject you to a reversal of funds.

Several points:
you are from the UK so post in the UK forum next thread :peace:

By giving a direct debit mandate to paypal you gave them permission to access your bank account.

If you had this done, there was a reason. Just you have yet to find out for yourself. More than likely there has been some incident for this to happen.

if (steps are indicated in resolution page)
....resolve set steps
else if (your activity mandates it)
....leave it alone
else
....call paypal

Yes, its real easy.
You don't need the bank to do it , you can do it yourself.

Interesting thread... hope that the OP would update on the situation, did you find out the reason arronb2009?

arronb2009 02-14-2012 02:41 PM

*update*

After countless un replied emails from paypal I decided to ring them to find out the reason they reversed my money. Their reason was - There was no recent activity on my paypal account since october 2011 and I withdrew all funds from paypal - which led them to say it was a "suspicous transaction" and they have asked me to confirm my ID etc, If I dont confirm my ID they will hold my funds and limit my account for 180 days. The items I sold prior to october which built up to £150 was home made candles selling at £15 each, made by a family member.
