Paypal

Hi all,

Just a quick question...

I am looking to try a new supplier but bank transfer I dont like doing on the first few times as like to make sure I am actually going to get my goods.

If I was to use a Paypal that I opened to just send payments am I asking for a problem or a limitation very soon?

Or has anyone got any other ideas on sending payments etc?

Thanks

depends on a few things

ive used moneybookers before. it really all depend on what this supplier takes as payment

Seanws30 - Im not familiar with moneybookers / moneygram etc wouldnt know how to use those etc. Only ever dealt with T/T and PP.

@GTB - Buying goods from a supplier in China - used the person quite a few times but paid via another PP. Obviously before coming across this website and learnt never to buy stock with PP...

Now T/T is ok however they give you details of their account and describe everything in a different way... for instance..

They give me an account number - However when I go to 'Send money overseas' it tells me to input an IBAN number.... also BIC Code - they call it a bank code... my bank tells me it should be 4 digits, my supplier tells me their's is 3.... makes everything slightly confusing thats why I wanted to find another payment method.

Also Swift codes I couldnt begin to understand after putting in all the information my supplier gave me as to why it wouldnt send due to numbers being shorter even tho thats their info.... :S

Might be me being dim...

They are phone accessories that I always deal with and will only be about £190 worth to start with...but paying with PP is that a big risk?

All advice please

Western Union is this ok ? I see they only take Credit Cards which I suppose isnt bad..

WU is not safe

moneygram the same, once the recipient receives the money its gone

only use if you trust

You can fund your MB purchases with credit card for safety.

The b2b site that I use has Escrow as a payment option, you can pay directly from your bank account / credit card etc and Escrow hold the money and only release it once you confirm you have received the goods and are happy with them.

That's the way I do it, It may cost me a few extra cents per item when buying this way, but I think it's definatly worth it for the peace of mind

Every site needs to be using Escrow I love it but when you find back street suppliers that are good to you and dont take these big methods only the T/T / WU ways but have dealt with them before you have to take that risk I suppose thats just business.

Lets see what happens
