PayPal removed my bank acc, PayPal still fine
 

With this being my first stab at going stealth I made the mistake of purchasing an item and funding it from my bank account.
Realised from reading the forums not long after I did it that it's a big no no.
Anyway today PayPal emailed me to say that my bank is querying the DD and have cancelled the transaction. Because of this PayPal have removed my bank acc from within PayPal.
No other problems or questions at all from PayPal though luckily.
So my question is can I re-add this bank account now as long as I only use it for withdrawing or is it dead and best to add a fresh one?

You will need to add a new account and this time do it properly.

You may want to consider abandoning this one and starting again

Prob best to open up a new account and make sure the DD is accepted. Which bank by the way?

Adding a new bank account is just going to be wasting another. They will limit you sooner or later. :pry:

Sorry just updated my original post didn't realise my iPhone had made a mess of it.
Thing is in the email PayPal said to me that the bank didn't process the transaction as they were querying it the direct debit.

They also said not to contact PayPal about the issue as this was strictly nothing to do with them, just me and my bank.

This is why I'm wondering if I'm safe to carry on either re-adding the same bank account or using a new one.

Because the transaction was never actually made and never left my bank so would they know 'who I am'?

Talk to your bank and find out what went wrong before doing anything

It was a Lloyds bank account.
Im guessing the bank refused to let the payment out because the paypal account is in a different name to my bank.
The fact paypal told me it was a bank issue makes me think they havent seen any kind of details because the bank never released the DD.

Like you guys say though, I think it may be best to just get rid and start again with paypal.
Finding it hard enough as it is getting hold of bank accounts (used a few before I found this forum) so don't want to waste anymore.

i had the same thing a while ago, added and verified a bank acc then added another to move funds elsewhere, this was a savings account and they refused the DD and removed the second account, i rang paypal and they said re-add the savings account but just dont confirm it this time,i did and it was fine for a year or more

Lloyds is well known for being difficult - it is certainly not one of the banks advised on here - suggest you open an easycash account with Halifax. If you have a Lloyds account it's pretty well instant

Granny do you think the problems with Lloyds accounts will now become an issue with Halifax accounts as Lloyds now own halifax and halifax are in the process of moving all their records and procedures onto Lloyds systems ?

Lloyds might now become OK to use seeing as they are merging with HALIFAX and they allow deposits in other names

You dont know Lloyds well then. They have been pillocks for years. Still maintaining banking practices from last century. Doubt there will be change. :pouts:

No I know Lloyds and know they are a pain but was just stating that it could go the other way.. its was merely an assumption not a statement.

Strangely I received a deposit into the farm egg sales account this week (which is with Lloyds) and it was in a different name. It wasn't even meant for us so I had to give it back, someone had made a mistake with the account number, but it shows there is no consistency with Lloyds - and that makes them dangerous

Interesting.. dont know whether you know.. if you werent honest Gtran they have no come back on that.. however iI would always give deposits back if that happens as im aware that can be classed as deception if you know you have obtained something by someone elses wrong doing.. so I found out.

Why would I want something that doesn't belong to me? Our accountant would rip us to pieces.

No I know.. I was just saying if it had happened to anyone else that people may keep them and was just a general thing...

Doubt it , Easy cash accounts are not owned by the banks that use them, IE : Halifax and BOS.
